I just did it and came to 103 in my cart

    • $116 for me

Perhaps you had additional Amazon promotional credit (that gets automatically bundled in the discount shown)
though $13 is a bit of a strange amount - I would have expected $10

      • zip account promo + shopback I guess.

    • $101.79 for me.

No credit as far as I know. Anyway, if it uses credit it usually itemizes it.

Maybe it geo locates? SE Qld

  • Doorbell Plus not Pro by the way.

    • Thanks - well spotted. Updated title!

  • dont forget to use your zip account for additional $10 discount

  • Can these ring your echo or do you need a chime?

    • +1

They can ring your echo, easy automation in the Alexa app

    This or Aqara G4?

    • I don’t have this but Aqara has been rock solid for me. I haven’t hardwired it which if I do, will open up
      a lot more features.

      • Yeah heard a lot of good things about Aqara. I think I'm leaning that way. Thanks!

  • which ring verson is this?

  • +1

    Wowww great deal !

    • Just got my Doorbell Plus yesterday, bought this now and will return the new one as unopened box 😁

  • this one worse than the Ring 3 and 4 right?

    • Flagship is the pro , the one lower than the pro is the Plus

      • this is just basic one

    Don’t forget cashbacks ;)

  • This or eufy?

Eufy. But in saying that I had an older version of the Ring doorbell - Doorbell 2? which I purchased around 5 years ago.

Upgraded to an Eufy smart doorlock+doorbell combo last year. Much better performance, video quality, alerts, no lag like the Ring, and no subscription needed. Mind you the tech is 5yrs newer too. The door lock replaced my Samsung lock and Ring doorbell. Also replaced Arlo Pro cameras with an Eufy Homebase 3 and the Pro 4K hard wired camera from Eufy which records 24/7. Happy being all in the one Eufy ecosystem so far.

      • I thought eufy had a subscription model as well? Maybe I made a mistake impulse buying the ring camera just now haha

Edit: I knew some eufy cameras could save to memory card instead of cloud, but it seems that maybe ALL do. If that's the case. Then eufy seems like the clear winner if seeing up a whole new system.

        • Worth checking Reolink - they have cloud storage but can also upload to an FTP server of your choice

Can't comment on eufy, but I wouldn't reccomend anything from Ring..
I have one, and I hate the monthly subscription fee to save recordings, which is charged per camera.
I also have the security camera in my yard, and often times someone will come to the door and it will be detected only on one camera but not the other. Not always dependable which is better, but both are garbage.
One really bad example when I was away on holidays, my pet sitter came to feed the cat, and doorbell camera never detected them entering or leaving the house, and the security camera only detected them leaving the house.

  • Is the subscription for premium features or can I not use it at all without subscription?

    • It can be used as a doorbell without subscription, but only live feed without any recordings.

      • Thanks. I ended up buying it (buy first, justify later). We need a normal doorbell regardless and I figured it was cheap enough to take a chance even if the other features turn out to not be super useful without subscription. And then we always have the option to subscribe as well (even though I really hate the unnecessary subscription model)

        • Look up Aqara G4 bell - it does more than ring without the subscription. If you have HomeKit and iCloud plan and can hardwire it, it will also record 24x7 onto your iCloud storage.

    • You can use it without the subscription but it won’t have recordings and other features. Only live view I think.

I replaced my set up with the tapo doorbell and cameras.

  • 165 for me

  • Damn, comes up at $165 for me.

  • Yes, would love a good door bell camera recommendation that works with Home Assistant also.

  • Is it possible to automatically stream the live video feed (ie when motion is detected) on Google home? Lots of supposed ways of doing it comes up when searching, but much is old and seems unreliable.

They gave me a free one. Have not used it yet

  • I'm pretty annoyed. If someone reads this post later, I just wanted to point out that this ring doorbell plus uses micro USB and not USB c! That's insane at this point in time. It didn't even cross my mind to check.

That would literally have been a deal breaker for me and I would not have bought it, had I known. We do not have any micro USB cables or devices in this house anymore and I can't believe I'm bringing in another long-term device with micro USB :( I don't even know if I want to start drilling holes in the walls for this device now.

EDIT: also doesn't support 5ghz, had to use 2.4ghz network. I double checked how old this device was, thinking maybe I got confused thinking it was a new model, but no I was correct. It was only released on 2023. Wtf.
