Don't like the smell, but bought!

    • Saw this for black version too. $28.87

    • Is this USB drive TLC?

  • Does anyone have this and know the write speed?

    • Have the black one bought a while ago. Write is only about 40-50mbs

      • +2

The black one is a different speed. I have the one pictured and it’s very quick. See other post

        • +3

For the idiot who downvoted me: the black one is 150mbps, the ones in OP are 400mbps

        • -1

I bought the 128GB version, I have just tested it and you are correct. It is ~2.2x faster than the black version I have for write speeds according to Crystal Mark and USB Deview.

Read speeds gave no additional performance, but at 330MB/s, I'm happy with that. With 90MB/s to 120MB/s write speeds with the one OP shared, I'm content with using it.

The one in the post also gets significantly warmer, not sure if that will be an issue for those doing large transfers. I won't be, so not an issue for me.

Flash drive speed is determined by the speed of the flash inside, not by the speed of the interface 👍

      • Damn that's well over an hour to fill the drive

The lavender one is cheaper at $28.69

Got the Lavender as I don’t mind the colour
      Thanks OP

That's a $1.28 saving, I like the way you approach life.

        • I reckon Alvin has an "OzB 4 Lyf" tattoo somewhere

  • Even better. Thanks a lots

Seems like a bargain, not sure why I need one but guess I probably should just buy it now and worry about that small detail later….

  • such incredible bargain, at 400mb/s I believe these are faster than ssds hence the premium pricing, well worth the extra cost will save you a ton of time in the long run. Plus 256gb is a pretty decent size for 2024 you probably won’t need to buy storage ever again

    • Is there some sort of meme i'm missing thats linked to this post?

      • isn’t this whole website a meme

everyday bots upvote incredible jaw dropping deals like this that will keep you up at night, I really wonder if twitter or reddit has the correct business model sometimes

    • 400mb/s is UP TO and it is read only. write speed is about 10% of that.

      • +2

you’re going in to too much detail friend, this will smoke any ssd out there with its cutting edge usb 3.2 gen 1 interface and a stylish cover. We should ignore reality and instead bask in the warmth of marketing and group-think

        • My bad. I should have known better….it is pretty

  • I have one of these metal luxe sandisk usb type c and type a.

it runs hot like 70 degrees i think or atleast 50??

    feels hot to the fingeds?

why is it like that hot trash (15-25mb) speeds i think?

Usb type c 256gb plus type a small boi

    • +1

Exactly, I have thr same device and sure it goes fast, but only for a few minutes before the heat throttles it down to 15-25meg, almost need a heatsink

  • $0.03 too cheap for the shopback reward. Bad deal.

  • +1

Different form factor, but if you're after speed, consider looking at the Kingston DataTraveler Max for ~$10 more.

    • if only it had usb 3 as well!

  • I have the stainless coloured version of this. Super handy for moving files around. Write speed is a atrocious though so you cant be in a hurry.

  • Got refunded. Seems like not honouring.
