Needed two smart plugs and found these 4-packs to be on sale at Bunnings, cheaper per plug than previous deals I've seen.
No energy monitoring, no matter compatibility.
Have fans, heaters and towel-rack heaters running on these via Tapo app and google home, 6 months in and all still alive.
$65 at OW so can probably price beat

  These work perfectly with home assistant, too. Just block Internet to them at your router so they don't auto update firmware.

      No, but best to not to auto update in case TP link make changes that stop it from working with Home Assistant.

      You just need Internet for the initial onboarding into Home Assistant then you can block from then on.

    how do you remote control the switches if you block the internet? just turn off auto update in the settings

    Seems to be when you enter a regional store is reverts to $65.. tried Brisbane, Sydney - both the sale price - go back to the three regional centres I tried and it's full price. WTF!
