  • Good unit. Got it for around 550 with the crazy delonghi sale on ozb

    • Wow, that's awesome deal
Found elsewhere for $529 Factory Second but

      • I have a factory second from 2018 which is used multiple times a day and still works perfect

        • Oh wow thats impressive

        • Lucky you, got mine with the 40% coupon from DeLonghi and mine died nearly 2 years later. Now mine turns on but just flashing lights then red triangle. Tried all methods to rectify it but always the same flashing lights on startup. Prior the milk frother stopped working. Guess next step is warranty.

    • That's remarkably cheap considering it's a newer style unit.

Also agree I have this unit and can't fault it. No sperate milk dispensing option which is a little bit of a pain but other than that it's a simple easy to maintain unit

Yeah ive seen these down to 500ish. This is regular price ish. It's 789 with free shipping on Prime.

  • I've had one for a year $700 at JB at the time.

Coffee is good, machine stopped working 2 weeks ago has 2 yr warranty service was good but could t help me. I just turned the machine upside down and cleaned the grinder and its working again.

Other thing to note is the descaling process takes about 45m. Annoying.

    • How many times' a year would you descale, tho ?

      • With 20 cappuccinos a week, every 3 to 4 weeks

        • Far out, that a lot.
I descale my Nespresso pod twice a year.

You can also adjust the water harshness to prolong descaling periods

Was it flashing all the lights on startup? Mine used to dispense water after turning on but now it doesnt, only all lights flashing then red triangle. Ill try putting up side down and see. Dont want all the hassle of warranty.

      • @japik still dont know what fixed it. Probably a bean caught in a bad spot. Make sure you clean the group head, heaps of guides on youtube.

4 coffees a day descaler warning comes up every 2 months or less.

    We have one at work.

Makes fairly terrible coffee, but that seems to be standard for fully automatic machines which are not painstakingly maintained, tuned, and topped up with fresh beans. It's better than a… Nespresso pod machine, and people seem to like those as well.

Would I buy either myself? Hell no. But then I don't mind manual prep.

    • What beans are you using

    • See atm using pods I rate them I do still buy coffees now an again, so basically this be great upgrade..

    • People in workplaces fiddle with the settings which makes it crap again. With these machines I find you really need to have the grind setting at its lowest indefinitely and find a dose that supports a good extraction. You can actually get ok shots from these types of machines, you just tend to need two shots to make up the correct 20-30mL coffee, depending on your brew ratio.

I got the manual milk frother version. Good machine. Have to descale frequently. Approx every month with 2 double shot coffees per day.

    Coffees tastes good. Can't complain.

  • +3

I bought 2-3 years back for around $600 the non automatic milk version (I personally find all auto milk models make awful tasting latte/cappuccino and prefer to manually froth the milk).

Typically I do 2-4 double shots daily with the occasional 8 double shots when friends come around.

Descaling is rare as I use pre-filtered water (I don't use the replaceable filter in the unit).

If you're a real coffee tosser, then buy a manual machine and put in the extra effort manually grinding the beans and doing the proper barista thing.

If you want a decent coffee that's just below the quality you'd get from a manual machine, but you don't want to deal with all the bs associated with manually making coffee and cleaning up afterwards, then buy one of these machines and you won't regret it.
