Got any recommendations for tops? I like those river resin looking things on desky.

I got a couple of acacia benchtop ftom bunnings and put one and a half together for depth, then sanded and stained and varnished

This was during covid, so had a bit of time

      • Just wanted to ask your thoughts on If the 2400x900 slab from bunnings would well "fit" on the base

        • 2200 x 600 x 26mm Golden Teak Acacia is what i got exactly which makes my workspace 2200 x 900.

These legs only stretch up to 1290 horizontally so that's a 555 mm overhang lengthwise each side. The bigger issue is the width. It's 480 mm where it touches the desktop so at 900 mm, it might be wobbly as when raised higher.

          The site recommends a desktop size of 1000 x 500 min up to 1600 x 800 max

          • @MuddyRubber: One other quick question about the slab you got, did it have any finish on it and if it did how annoying was it to sand off.

      • Hey I did a similar thing and went with the beech panel, sanded and stained with walnut and still in love 4 years later. How did you join the two pieces laterally? Did you have the woodworking tools or had to hire?

FYI that it was cheaper in May

    • +1

      $40 cheaper…

  • Hmm.. Was waiting until Prime Days to see if these were on special - I bought one in the US last year during Prime Day and it was fairly heavily discounted. Not sure it'll get as low as this thought…

  • Can anyone tell me if the desktops are rounded or square? Photos are mixed I cant tell.

    • Where do you mean? I had one of the chipboard ones, and it was rounded on the corners. If you mean the edges, they aren't rounded in any real sense of the word - although they also weren't 'sharp' edges.

      • I meant the corners actually. Full photos of the tables dont show that they are rounded so am not sure. Is $299 delivered for a 120x60 chipboard table a good price?

Dual motor and 3 save settings. I got a 1.6m table top and frame for $350 on eBay.

        • Can you share the link?

They only go to 116cm so too short for me

  • +1

I dunno - looks like a single motor, no ability to save preset heights and the min height is a bit high (71cm - depends on how tall you are i guess but other desls can go down to 69cm).

Doesnt seem like good value compared to lazy maison deals that happen often.

Their website also has it down as $149 (down from $319) as part of their Amazon prime day sale? Can’t seem to get that price though

    • That price is available now.

      • Yup. Unfortunately the extra $50 off put what I wanted at $299.99, which left me 1 cent short of being able to use the $30-off-$300 coupon. Ended up adding the $60 cable tray as it was the cheapest thing available, and I think it's probably worth the $30 I paid for it

      • right, will update title thanks

Bought one. It wobbles a lot on carpet.
