The RRP for this product is $349 so this seems like a nice deal on a relatively new doorbell offering.
I note that Officeworks seem to have price-matched this deal already.

Not negging the deal. Having a ring. Very slow response for notifications. If not on a plan you more then likely will miss who is at door. Not sure if intentional from them to have a slight delay to get more subscribers for the ability to view who it was. I tried 3 different wifi. And different routers. Good ping and speed from where doorbell is. Got FTTP 1000/50 and still issues. With my reolink at same location it notify me 4+ seconds before ring does.

    • I have the same issue. I get the notification when the postie is gone halfway through :). There are no issues with my Wi-Fi, and I am on a 1G connection.

I have the same issue with my original Arlo doornell (no camera).

It is so slow to notify. I usually just set it to ping as a motion sensor before anyone reaches the button.

    • Yeah, I changed to high sensitivity. Still no big change beside draining battery so quick. Speaking off. Just need to change it as low again.

  • I'm looking for a preferably wired smart doorbell. Any suggestions on the best options?

  • Many of the Ring cameras are on sale:

    • Oh nice. Any idea how long this early Prime deal will go for?

  • Had the Battery Ring Doorbell for 4-5 years now (with subscription). Generally no issues whatsoever. Just that it's not HomeKit compatible (back then there were talks about having support but unlikely the case anymore). I got an extra battery through Qantas Rewards points a few years ago so it was an easy swap when one's running low.

  • I want to buy a chime only, but there is no discount deal.

I use an echo dot instead of the chime. Still rings when someone is at the door but plays music as well and is cheaper.

Honestly, why would anyone trust these clowns. Your privacy is worth more than this non-bargain garbage.

Don't bother with this doorbell. Had it for 2 years off the top of my head. Once your trial of the subscription runs out and you decide you don't want to pay a recurring fee to have a doorbell, it becomes pretty much useless. Trust Amazon to find a way to have a doorbell-as-a-service.

Unless you run a wired connection, it's so annoying to always have to charge the battery. Ours would normally last about 2 or 3 months even with all the battery saving features turned on and motion zones setup.

Data transfer is huge too. I don't think it was going to Amazon servers, but a quick google revealed it is a common thing. We are talking multiple gigabytes per day.

When only using the free side of things, all it is good for is a doorbell and a slow live video after the doorbell has been rung. I had a chime pro hooked up to be able to get a real doorbell sound that didn't rely on having my phone on me and that anybody in the house could hear.

After 2 years of pain, I downgraded back to a dumb doorbell and I'm so much happier.

    • I really wanted this, but I can’t justify yet another subscription. $50 a year adds up overtime.
