[PC, Steam] Grim Fandango Remastered $5.37 @ Steam

630

After seeing the post for Day of the Tentacle, I saw that Grim Fandango was also on sale. This was my favourite game when it was originally released. If you're a DOTT fan, or just up for an old school point and click, this game is lots of fun. I played the remastered edition through when it was on sale for the Switch, and I'm excited to give it a go here on Steam now as well

FYI for anyone who doesn't know, what you're buying is a renowned 1998 graphic adventure game.

You'll love the Broken Sword series too

@Lucille Bluth: I played Broken Sword the Sleeping Dragon just a few weeks ago and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it.

@DontNeedThis: now play the other 4

            • @DontNeedThis: Thats great, subjectively, Sleeping Dragon is actually the weakest one of the 5. There is a new one coming out later this year, and a new remaster of the first. I took part in a Kickstarter campaign.

Give them a go in order, you'll love them.

              • @Lucille Bluth:

                remaster of the first

Should I wait for the remaster or should I just go ahead and play it?

Also, should I play the Director's cut? I've heard that it's censored.

                • @DontNeedThis: I would go ahead and play it now, you'll still enjoy it.

Directors Cut has additional scenes that don't really add much to the story, and they remove death scenes. I would personally play the original, not DC.

Hope you get past the goat 😂 it's a long running joke in the series.

                  • @Lucille Bluth: The original is so hard to find!!

                    • +1

@DontNeedThis: Ahh in that case just play the DC. It would still be enjoyable. The original game starts at a Cafe, they added some extra scenes before this and throughout. Won't give away too much It's no biggy, and you can come back and replay the remastered when it comes out.

Try to play them in order, you'll enjoy it more.

@DontNeedThis: Just found out the DC Steam version includes free version of the original.

$2.90 for BS 1-3 pretty good deal. Once you buy this you can download the original BS1 DLC for free.

But I’m your friend my name is manny calavera….

  • Why you would rent the game on Steam when you can buy it outright on GOG for an extra two cents is beyond me.

We may have years, we may have hours. But sooner or later we all pick this up on sale.

Criminal there was never a sequel done. One of my fav games, forever.

  • Any advantages to getting it on steam instead of GOG like mentioned by a poster above?

    • +1

Ease of access from multiple devices including steam deck and access from shared family library would be two advantages to buying on Steam
