Note first game was free in Dec 2022 on GOG and a Reforged (remake/remaster) coming out in Q3 2024 from Kickstarter campaign.
isnt the first game the same just better, why would you play the original first?
Truth?? - the games are straight nostalgia, especially the first ones. It would take away the joy of remembering what it was all like when this released to jump to the remaster. I have played these in the last few years and (with the internet outraged at me) can say that they are only 'average-good' and not 'great' as games - but they are masterpieces of memory and encapsulate an era of gaming. To do away with the original graphics takes away more than half of their 'value', IMHO.
i want them to stop working on the remastered versions and release broken sword 6, been waiting like 10 years for it

Also have the signed by Charles that was given out at the other Kickstarter campaign 10 plus years ago. Love it, and has the quote from the opening title in his handwriting.
I assume you have seen the trailer from a year ago for Broken Sword 6 hence your comment about hurrying up.

@dammagic: Yes I preordered the ultimate too. They are soonish about to send requests for shipping details. I don't think it's possible now, they closed 30 March 2024.

No it's not the same. The DC removed all the death scenes, and censored blood in parts. The opening sequence has also been altered. I didn't think the extra Nico scenes added anything really to the story. There were some additional dialogue and cutscenes removed from the original.
General consensus is that you should play the original on r/BrokenSword
Yeah I didn't enjoy the extra Nico scenes and they only really add to the game if you've already played them before. This deal is how I found out the Reforged version was a thing though, very keen for that to come out
I always say that any new fan should never play the remaster. Always the original first. Imo the remaster was made for fans purely for a different experience and seeing Nico's side and sure taking the death scenes out was meh but yeah no new fan should ever play it.

Deponia is okayish, the world is interesting but the main character you control is a huge dick so I’m kinda conflicted on that one.
They have another bundle with more games but not quite as good discount on it

Broken swords brings back memories of my frat days
Easily one of the greatest point and click adventure series ever made. Looking forward to release of the first game that they're making with higher res character art, redrawn background art etc. But they kept the same style so nothing looks out of place. Hope they do this with all the games so I can enjoy them in a new way.
A Broken Sword post by someone named Lucille Bluth is so tailored to my interests I may fall over. Don't sleep on these games guys, they're excellent. Cosy gaming at it's finest.
