Centre Com have their Christmas in July specials going at the moment and their Edifier range has some great deals. In particular, I’ve been looking for a deal on the S360DB’s for a while and these are now at a historic low for OzBargain.

I recommend checking out the review in the following deal by @ThatsCheap and subsequent comments:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/721453

Delivery to most metro locations appears to be $25.30, with VIC being $12.13 - regional delivery costs can go quite high which might kill the deal for some.

Surcharges: 1.2% Card & PayPal, 2% AmEx.

Depends if you want a dedicated subwoofer. If you want more bass (and that woofer throws out a LOT of bass) go for the S360DB.

Otherwise, i'd say the S2000MKIII would have a better sound considering the larger tweeters and drivers. Also better value if you take the RRP into consideration.

  • Good to see proces for these products normalising again. For a while kinda around lockdown era prices jumped a heap/ didn’t see many deals. Nature is healing.

  • Just bought a pair of unboxed JBL 305P MKII from fb marketplace for $260 (good deal I would say) until I found I still need pads, cables and USB audio interface to make a satisfied sound quality. Even with USB audio interface, I still cannot play music on my phone via Bluetooth… Any idea? Thx a lot.

    • You either need an interface or DAC and cables, no way around it

Not really a great deal at $260, they were available brand new for roughly $290 a couple days ago

    • amazon basic is a good start point

Centrecom has had the S360DB and/or S350DB at about this price, on and off, for months. They keep putting it on special for a "limited time" and then it goes on special again shortly after the "limited time" is over.

Having said that, my girlfriend picked up a set and I'm bloody impressed with the sound for the price. The sub goes way, way down which she loves, because she is into electronic, D&B etc. Would highly recommend.

The S2000MkIII are meant to sound great too, but the fact they don't have a sub, or even a sub out, means you have to be happy with not pairing them with a sub, unless you are going to jump through some hoops. I suspect most people would be perfectly happy with the S360DB.

    • Without a sub out, you still can connect a sub.

You can, but there are more ways for it to not work like it should. I actually have a pair of Presonus Eris E3.5s hooked up to a Voll 8 sub. The E3.5s don't have a sub out, so I just have both the sub and the second speaker wired to the first. I can get away with it because:
        a) the sub has a filter cut-off so I can try to balance it, and
        b) the low frequencies in mixes are usually mixed in mono (central) rather than stereo (L or R), so it's not often that the sub fades out because the lows are only recorded in the right channel.

So yes, it's possible but you need to know about the trade-offs.

P.S. My girlfriend actually got the S351DB for $269 about a month ago, not the S360DB. Uses a slightly different tweeter, and the S360DB has a wireless sub (still needs wall power), but for $100 less the S351DB was pretty awesome.

  • Does anyone have the s360db here connected to a PC?

I've plugged mine in via the supplied optical cable into my motherboard and lately the bass has been randomly going off, sometimes the speakers give me these high pitched static noise when I'm using my pc and the only way to fix this is to quickly turn down my volume via windows (even though the volume is on 10 when this happens)….

Is there a specific audio driver that I am supposed to be using? I've had them since August 2022 and I've never had a problem. It's been happening for the last 2 months but it's driving me up the wall now

    • Did you fix this? I have my S360DB’s connected to my PC. Well, they’re connected to my LG 42” and the sound is set to optical out. Windows 11, pretty generic plug and play.

There’s no specific sound driver you should be using, except the one that matches your motherboard.

Could be a hardware issue, have you updated your sound drivers?

      • I haven't seemed to fix it yet sadly.. I swear though ever since I updated gigabytes sound driver from my mb, it's caused this issue.. but when I tried the previous driver it still does it…

I have no clue, I might just deal with just plugging in the aux and seeing what happens

I brought them from Amazon August 2022 and yeah I've never had this problem until recently…

If I wanted to return them I don't even have the box cause I threw it out due to the box being so big
