I've always thought a Bissell spot cleaner did a better job than my floor standing speakers

Thanks Op bought 0. I’ll wait for the next Black Friday discount.

Thanks Op, was going to buy the JBL speaker but got this instead.

Me too. I was going to buy this but ended up buying 205 of the JBLs and it was even cheaper at $7995.

  • 25 to 150w at 8ohms sounds reasonable but in honesty what would you need to drive these with to get the full $8000 value? I’d hate to think ….

Would be good to have one.

    I can't even afford one.

    • Half a speaker at half price maybe? Just don't press the stereo button haha.

8 grand and only 1 year warranty. Yikes.

Great THD info in the specs…… Nothing there, but great marketing crud.

16K RRP, you could buy a train for that and install JBL speakers in it

    • For 16K you could buy 4 trains and install JBL speakers

    • Well, Count Hank, shall we discuss the…

  • Sacrebleu…price aside, not vibing the look of this one.

  • Before paying $K+ at a2a, it's worth reading back through comments on deal posts from recent years.

  • I feel like if you're spending $8k, you really want the performance of a 3-way speaker. Surely something like the KEF R3 Meta would mop the floor with these for half the price?

    • Nope. I had their raw 3 way Utopia drivers in my car for 5 years. In home I have R3 Meta for last couple of months. The detail was on a whole new level. Maybe R1 Meta and then were talking.

Speakers job is to have a steady dynamic range on all listening levels.

The KEF speakers sound great but they’re not going to mop the floor with the Sopra speakers or really any speaker at that price point. You’re way past the point of diminishing returns and would certainly struggle to pick out any significant difference between brand and speaker model that isn’t a characteristic of the speaker (bright/warm/neutral) or what your ears hear.

What makes good sound is unique to the individual which is why you don’t buy without going to have a listen first.

  • No bass. You would need a subwoofer.

  • These are for rich audiophiles only, even at half price. Typical buyer is getting them for the second system in the study or small listening room with the floor standers in the main room.

  • The whole subwoofer thing is over rated unless you're tone deaf and/or listen to heavy rock/metal.
High end speakers are a world apart from this and don't need more bass.
    Stand by to repel naysayers….

    • Subs so that we can "listen" with more than our ears only.

  • My room is way too small to get the full potential of these speakers and I don't want to upset my duplex neighbour.
