Or buy Cadbury drinking chocolate 450g for the same price when not on sale.

    Never tried this.

is it really 150g of cocoa and the rest sugar?

    • +2

I checked the ingredients for you, it's 125g cocoa and the rest is sugar.

      • +2

        Thats crazy. 31 teaspoons.

I found this very disappointing.. tasted extremely bland/watery at the recommended serving size and was still worse than the aforementioned Cadburys one when we added extra. Definitely not worth it for a 'premium' option

    • Thanks! Wondered about how it tasted

    • I agree, got this once, never again. Pana is my favourite.

just make your own- woolies home brand cocoa powder and icing sugar (not mixture) sifted together - 50/50 split or whatever your prefer

This one seems more like 60/40 sugar/cocoa and you'll need some emulsifier and flavour.

Btw, why is it "Signature Chocolate 42% Cocoa Powder" where it's clearly less than 42% cocoa?

Ingredients : Chocolate powder 88% (sugar, cocoa powder 32%) fat reduced cocoa powder (10%), emulsifier (soy lecithin), flavour

      Looks like a suprisingly blatant scam by Starbucks, the cocoa is clearly 0.88 x 0.32 + 0.10 = 0.38, so 38%.

      • My understanding at least according to Aussie law, ingredient listing requires brackets to follow concentration; so as per the Chinese listing each is separated by a comma, so:
        Choc powder 88%, reduced fat cocoa, emulsifier, flavour = 88% + 10% + 2%.
The English format is a strange one…

That's interesting as! And clearly the message in English is completely different to what you say.

  • I tried once. Pretty bad.

This is one of the worst hot chocolates I've ever bought. Tasteless and bland. It doesn't even taste like sugar. I wonder what kind of cheap filler they are using. There is also noway this is 40% cocoa.
