NAB Qantas Business Signature Card: 200,000 Bonus Qantas Points ($4,000 Spend in 60 Days, GST Registered), $295 Annual Fee @ NAB

340

Eligibility Criteria

  • You're a sole trader, a partnership with up to two partners, a company with up to five directors, or a trustee of an eligible fund.
  • You're registered for GST, have a turnover of at least $75,000 per year, and operated under your current registered ABN or ACN for more than 12 months.
  • You're at least 18 and a permanent resident of Australia.

It's probably one of the best signup offers on NAB Business Credit cards. Also, from my personal experience, I have found the application process at NAB to be very smooth. They do ask you to link your accounting software to access company reports.

Also, If you haven't held a Qantas points-earning credit card in the last 12 months, you can earn an additional 20K Qantas points via this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/854137. Even though the bonus 20K deal doesn't explicitly mention Qantas business credit cards, they have mentioned in the T&Cs

Qantas Points earned from the member’s first purchase must be credited to their Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards account by 31 October 2024. Qantas Points are taken to be credited on the date they appear in the Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards activity statement which can be checked online at qantas.com/myaccount.

  • I feel a bit daffy. Can't see if there is a minimum business income requirement like other business credit cards?

    • It’s in the application process.

You have an annual turnover of at least $75,000

    • "You're registered for GST, have a turnover of at least $75,000 per year, and operated under your current registered ABN or ACN for more than 12 months."

  • Tempting… But just got the Amex 200K velocity and Gold FF 2 months ago. 🤔🤔🤔

    • how did you get 200K velocity please?

      • Velocity promo, expired end of March

  • sole trader with ABN ok?

    • You're registered for GST, have a turnover of at least $75,000 per year, and operated under your current registered ABN or ACN for more than 12 months.

  • +1

What proof would they ask for in terms of business income?

    • Business bank account statements and ATO statements are a few to mention.

  • $4k Min. Spend in The First 60 Days

By my reading of the T&C's, payments to the ATO do qualify. If you have a quarterly BAS, it's due in 27 days, and paying that with this card could cover the entire spend requirement.

Anyone know how long approval typically takes?

    • I applied start of the year and the process was straightforward if you can link your accounting software with their System. They check all the details directly from the Accounting Software.

      • +1

How long did it take though?

      • What if you don't use the Acc software and you use the service of the accountant for your BAS and Tax return? Will they be happy if you just provide them with your Business bank account statements and ATO statements as you have written above? What else will they require?
What if you already have several credit cards (private, not business) with high limits? Will it bte the reason for them to decline your appliaction?

        • +2

same, can't seem to get past the linking software page.

          Found this:

          Don't want to apply online?
If you don’t meet our online application eligibility, don't have an accounting software package or don’t wish to apply online, you can call your NAB Business Banker or contact us.

      • Is it instant approval if linking accounting software? Thanks

  • Can I transfer points from qantas business to personal ?

    • Yes, but only 20k will count towards Points club/ points club plus in a membership year

      • +1

can you explain further what this means?

To unlock Points Club and Points Club Plus, you need to earn 150,000 points or 350,000 points, respectively, in a Frequent Flyer Membership Year. These points can be earned on the ground (up to 125,000 per transaction), acquired from flying (20,000), and be transferred from a Qantas Business Rewards account (up to 20,000). Points Club and Points Club Plus members receive a range of exclusive benefits including earning Status Credits on Flight Rewards, lounge access, discounts, exclusive flying offers, and more.

  • I Closed the same card a couple of month ago and dont see an exclusion clause. Called up and was told i wouldnt be eligible again. Any1 has any experience with this?
    Thanks.

    • Same here.. its mentioned in the terms that any business card that included a bonus points awarded in the last 12 months are not eligible.

*Offer commenced on 1 July 2024. To be eligible for the 200,000 bonus Qantas Points offer, you must apply for and be issued a new NAB Qantas Business Signature Card before the offer is withdrawn on 28 February 2025 and spend $4,000 on everyday business purchases within 60 days of account opening. You are not eligible for this offer if you have already applied for this offer and have not yet been awarded the bonus points, or, have previously held or continue to hold any NAB business credit card that included a bonus points offer that was awarded in the last 12 months. NAB is not responsible for any delays in assessing your application or the card being issued. Everyday business purchases are purchases made in accordance with the NAB Qantas Commercial Card Rewards Conditions (PDF, 183KB). These terms describe the purchases not eligible to earn points including, but not limited to, transactions NAB decides are wholly or partly for gambling or gaming purposes. Bonus points will be credited to the qualifying member's account within three months of meeting the spend criteria.

  • Just rushed through the 150k QFF last month on this card. Shattered!

  • I am in a trustee Fund however it said "Your business type requires a bit of extra care. We can help you apply or talk to you about more options that may suit your needs."

    Need to call them ETC….???

  • Can the 4k be my ato bill?

    • I'm curious about this too.

    • +2

I don't normally pay ATO directly using a credit card, so can't confirm that.
But I normally purchase the vanilla Visa or mastercard from the supermarket when they are on offer and use them to pay the ATO. This saves me from paying credit card charges to ATO.

      • This saves me from paying credit card charges to ATO.

How does that work? According to the table on this page, every type of credit and debit card has a surcharge:
        https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals-and-families/paying-the-a…

Or are you saying that the discount you get when buying the cards is higher than the surcharge amount, therefore you're saving overall?

        • +1

Prepaid gift cards are considered debit cards and have lower charges when using them at ATO.
          Debit Mastercard = 0.2%
          Visa Debit = 0.4%

    • I'm curious too.
seems ATO is eligible but suspicious as it's too good to be true.

    • I got approved this week. In the terms it's allowed. I have a $3780 bill to pay so I'm happy!

      1. What transactions don’t earn Qantas Points?

      (c) Government fees and charges (apart from
transactions where the NAB Qantas Business
Card is used to make payments to the Australian
      Taxation Office (ATO));

  • Great offer - but unless you have a NAB business account already, you need to link your Xero/MYOB/Quickbooks account to NAB. I don't use any of those software packages (Excel is more than enough for my needs) so I can't apply. Disappointing :(

    • +1

      I'm applying by phone.

Signed up for this card when it was 160,000. NAB was a headache to deal with. They ask for documentation, you send it through. Then hear nothing back. So you call them. Wait on hold and go through the system to talk to the right person, verify identify multiple times. Transferred through multiple people. Then they say they need another document. So you send it through. Then hear nothing. Call again. They say to log in with my nab ID and finish the application. So I do that but can't see where to complete the application. More back and forth. They finally realised I have a Nab connect ID but for this card I need a personal Nab ID. Even though it is a business card…. Different team needs to create the NAB ID.

It was 4 weeks before I got the card. Another month before the points came through.

For 200,000 points I would do it all again.

But don't do this if you are in a hurry….

    • Thanks for the insight, I think I'll wait until 60 days before the July-September BAS is due before I apply. The BAS due this month is too close to be sure I'll get the card in time to pay the BAS.

      • +1

Same situation here. Will wait, still got time:

        NAB Qantas Business Signature Card

*$4k min. spend in the first 60 days. Offer ends 28 February 2025. New cards only, T&Cs, fees, charges & eligibility criteria apply.

  • I don't have an accounting software…everything on spreadsheet. Will they accept ?

  • It states $75000 turnover which I have but I don't have that much in profit. Am I no chance?

    • You just said you meet the $75k turnover criteria.

      • Ok, just seems odd to me they don't care about profit. NAB have knocked me back before but I don't recall what the criteria was then.

        • +1

My guess is they care more about transaction volume as they'll make money each time you transact, and obviously on interest as well if you don't pay off your card.

  • if i have a ABN but no business income (salary more than enough to cover the requirement) will i be eligible?

    • Requirement:
You're registered for GST, have a turnover of at least $75,000 per year, and operated under your current registered ABN or ACN for more than 12 months.

  • +2

I thought I would post my application experience, which was professional, painless and quick.
Applied online on the 30th of June and as other have said I connected to our MYOB software during the process. Got instant conditional approval but NAB needed more info. A few days later I received an email to take my trust deed company docs to my local bank branch for verification and sighting. A couple of days later a business banker called and asked me a few questions and then sent me details on sending them docs from our business ATO portal, which was easy. I also asked the banker if I would receive the 150K points from when I applied or the 200K points from when I would receive final approval. Confirmed that points are based on when cards are approved, so would receive 200K points. Today I received notification that my card was approved. Took 9 working days in total for approval, and should get the card next week, but can already use it on Apple Pay. I cannot fault NAB with the process and can only compliment them on their professionalism with my application.

    • I've got an application in too. I don't use any of the accounting software listed though and neither does my accountant so I filled out a manual application form after a local business banker gave me a call. Couldn't have been easier!

What are you referring to re the 150,000 and the 200,000 points though? Was the deal only 150,000 points on the 30th June?

      • +1

Yes, on the 30th of June when I applied the offer was 150K Qantas Points. NAB changed their offer to 200K Qantas points on the 1st of July.

        • Oh ok thanks for confirming.

    • Mine has taken 7 business days to get a phone call from a person at NAB after getting conditional approval, who asked many of the same questions I thought I had already answered online. Will likely take another 7 business days before I get a card in my hand.

  • Hi there, I am looking to apply but I have not processed my tax return for 2023-2024 so don't have that as evidence of my turnover. I don't use any MYOB software.

Can I use anything else as evidence ? e.g. BAS statements ?

  • Does anyone know if you can apply if you've previously held this exact card (or other NAB business credit card) in the last 12 months? I didn't see any mention of it in the fine print on the link.

  • Finally got the card. Very weird. You can see the card in your nabID but you can't see the balance unless you ask for it to be added?

    • +1

Yeah, it's a bit weird. Ensure they add both your card and billing accounts to the app.

  • Does anyone know if having a Citi credit card within the past year will clash with this promotion? I closed a Citi card a few months ago and didn't realise they're owned by NAB now. Either way I have just hit the minimum, will update if my points come through!

    • Update: points just came through, two statements into having the card!

  • I've only been active in my business for 4 months now but have earned well over 75k and am registered for GST - can I still apply?

  • Last few days I've come across this message:

Online application form is currently down for maintenance.
If you would like to apply for a Business Card through an alternative channel, please call us on 1300 615 746. Please note this may require additional information and time to complete.

    Anyone else having issues?

  • Anyone else had the bonus points yet? Did you receive these after 60 days, or the statement after spending $4k?
    Cheers

  • I called NAB loyalty team, and they said that the 12 month cooling off period is dependent on when you received the bonus points from the previous credit card, and not the credit card closure date. Can i confirm with anyone here? Is this usually the case with most credit cards? Or just NAB.

Based the T&Cs, it seems to be true dependent on when bonus point was received.

"You are not eligible for this offer if you have already applied for this offer and have not yet been awarded the bonus points, or, have previously held or continue to hold any NAB business credit card that included a bonus points offer that was awarded in the last 12 months. "

    TIA.
