Whats the cheapest way out of this to get the 150k

    • T&Cs appear to have changed. Looks like they won't award the points based on the final day but based on the cover you've held over 60 days. Which means you'd need to choose the highest covers which is roughly a total of $2,700 for 120k QFF points. FYI it used to be around $460 in 2024 for the same points.

not 60 days, its 6 months now

        • +1

Forgot they asked 150k, not 120k.

          120k for 60 days. 150k for 180 days or 6 months.

          (1) up to 120,000 Qantas Points after the same level of cover has been held for 60 continuous days, (2) up to 30,000 additional Qantas Points after the policy has been held for 180 days.

  • can U still change the plan a few days from 6 months to get the max 150k points?

    • +1

Wow you have to hold it for 6 months now. That's insane!

Annoying site. Makes me fill in a whole lot of questions after inputting my address, then says doesn't insure that address.

    • Mate, are you sure you're not mistaking home insurance for health insurance?

  • +1

Im not sure its actually worth it, compared to some of the other deals going at the moment…

  • Not available to customers who have: held a Qantas Health Insurance policy at any time in the previous 12 months; or who have held a health insurance policy with nib, AAMI Health Insurance, Apia Health Insurance, GU Health, Suncorp Health Insurance, ING Health Insurance, Priceline Health Insurance, Real Health Insurance or Seniors Health Insurance at any time in the previous 6 months.

Unfortunately, referral terms indicate that the 5K referral points do not apply during sign on bonuses of 130,000 (or more) points.

Qantas points are awarded in two batches with most of them arriving after 60 days. Here is a breakdown of points on offer for the different hospital and extras policies:

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you now need to hold the exact cover over the course of 60 continuous days, rather than starting on the lowest tier and upgrading to the highest on the final week. Looks like they've caught on.

        Yeah party’s over.

        • I can see why, past offers got extremely popular and every single time I had the sales reps rip their hair out to convince me to stay for their subpar cover.

  • I compared my current PeopleCare policy, which I’ve had for nearly 12 years, with Qantas. Qantas offers better value and more coverage.

Previously, I paid $340 per month for a family of three with Bronze Hospital and Standard Extra coverage.

With Qantas, I’ll pay $338 per month for Silver Hospital (which provides significantly more coverage than PeopleCare’s Bronze plan) and Basic Extra coverage (which is better than PeopleCare’s Standard Extra plan).

I might as well keep my Qantas policy for a while longer.
I will also be netting about 65,000 Qantas point, thanks op
