Free Internode SIM with Purchase of Other Internode Product

60

Free Internode SIM for 6 months with no obligation to continue after the free period and no fees for cancelling the service. No cost to port your number from another provider either.

The SIM includes $450 of calls & text and 1.5GB data, plus 150GB social media data per month. Rates seem reasonable too, so the cap won't be used up by crazy call/text rates. Also, Internode SIMs use the Optus network.

Requires signup to an Internode service or recontracting for existing Internode customers and you may need to call Internode (13 NODE) to claim the offer, although I was automatically prompted to add the SIM when doing my order online.

By the sounds of "The Summer SIM Campaign includes the $10 SIM purchase charge, the $5 SIM delivery charge" I think the delivery is free too.

This deal is compatible with the Internode Naked 150 Special, which is still running: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/69911

  • 700m from the exchange, about 11mbits 1.1-1.2 download speed.

our old place was 5 times slower, same plan/company but they were updating it not long after we moved.

Whats classed as social media, seems like a lot of bandwidth just to poke and stalk people on facebook

    • There's also a massive 150 GB per month inclusion of social media traffic on your mobile phone - Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Linkedin, Ebay and Foursquare.

The social media inclusion applies to the specific social media URLs only. For example, data traffic resulting from clicking on a link within Facebook to download content from another website would not be included in the social media allowance, and would consume your regular data allowance.
The social media inclusion applies to on-phone usage within Australia - it does not apply to any traffic accessed via 'tethering' (when your phone is used as a modem for other devices).

      for the landline:
make sure to play with the adsl profiles on the webpage which can increase your download speed by quite a bit.

    • I don't know, I guess it's just better than saying 'unlimited' when most providers who advertise as unlimited actually have a limit hidden in the T&C's. The sites included in the social media allowance are listed as eBay, Foursquare, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and MySpace under the NodeMobile page.

  • Internode resell Optus and the terms are very similar to other Optus resellers.

I'm still trying to decide as I like amaysim's low call rates, whereas if you go over the included calls with Internode the costs can mount quickly.
