This is a brand new Boost sim card. PORTING YOUR EXISTING NUMBER TO BOOST:
You can request to port your number to Boost when activating the SIM. Before porting the number, contact your current service provider to confirm personal details. Make sure your Name and Date of Birth registered with the number are 100% correct, including spaces. Ask to update your details if anything is incorrect. Once confirmed, provide the exact details to Boost to initiate the porting. Some carriers will send you an SMS to authorize the porting request, so ensure the current SIM is inserted until the service is disconnected.

Price match the $300 sim at OW with the CellPoint deal for $247 delivered price. Brings it down to $235ish.

$235 for 265gb of data vs $205 for 170gb of data.

You just have to decide if an extra $30 for the year is worth the piece of mind of an extra 100gb of data.

Agree. Was happy to get this in December for $179 with 11/4/2025 expiry, but over $200 better off

with the 265gb sim if you can get it for $235 ish. I usually get the 265gb sim, but still have loads of

data on 2 other 12 month active sims for 2025.

For existing boost users who want to use this as a "recharge" and port away and back doing it via a $2 Telstra SIM is the way to go to keep exiting number. Just done it X3 times recently for family members. The trick is when in My Telstra app is to activate the Telstra SIM without a plan. Takes about 30mins to move from one boost SIM to a new one via porting.

    • I would have thought Telstra to Boost would not have been allowed, so thanks for sharing!

It's post paid Telstra accounts to boost that are a headache. They can only be done manually by support and is a bit unpredictable.

    • Hey mate, going to give this a shot. I've ordered a $2 from the Telstra store (amazing how it's $0 delivery to do that as well!), and should receive soon.

Is it basically fool proof to activate the Telstra SIM without copping a Telstra plan?

  • I’m in that Circles.Life arena where we’re about to get shafted by amaysim, does someone have a rinse+repeat cycle process for taking on these boost deals?

Is it keeping for 12 months, stacking any new deals thst come up and porting out and in again to a free/$2 sim service? How long do these things stay valid for after purchasing if you’re wishing to buy and stock up

    • Hi,
You can use this sim by the expiry date i.e as it says 08-09-2025 you can activate before that and your 365 days will start from the date of activation.
when you want to use this sim you can use that straightaway to port your number if you are not using boost but if you are using boost and want to use this sim you have port out and then port back in.
But important bit is sim expiry date.

The trouble is the providers are changing plans to make more profit by selling more data that users don't need. This 365 day boost plan is now no longer available so next "recharge" will force you up the scale to near $300 if you stay with boost. This deal the Sims can be activated up until Sept 25. The extra data is still usually available even after it's official expiry date of 10-3-25 in my experience.

Was with Boost. Moved to More mobile,on Telstra network with CBA yellow offer, paying $17 per month with $15 discount . It's only for an year. Still worth it.

    • Do they offer 5g and esim too?

Lol these were $190 a week ago and discontinued, will stop in October I heard from the Boost rep.

Wait for an eBay plus sale.

FYI, I was impacted by the silly 3g blanket ban of mobile phones by Amaysim (Oppo reno 11 5G) it has been 1 month since i joined Boost Mobile without any issues. There was no need to fiddle with technical settings, just a sim swap is all that was required. Hope it helps someone out there.

  • Just be aware if porting from Amaysim and have had Boos account before. I tried a few time and was not successful in activating my new Boost SIM and received an error that there has been a problem and I need to attend a Telstra store. Tried another time in the morning and activated normally. However a friend of mine was directed to Telstra store to resolve the same issue. The rep in Telstra could not resolve it. The online Boost guy was not able to resolve either. He is still waiting Boost to find a way to activate his new SIM
