  • can you use this to recharge as well?

    • No, you need to port out of Boost and then port back in using this starter kit.
Might be handy to order the voda or optus sim for $5 with this to help you porting in and out.

    It's a bit of a rip-off.

95% of customers use far, far less than 265gb per year.

But… people will buy it anyway !

    • I agree. I only use about 5gb a year.
I'm guessing that Telstra and Telstra Wholesale are market price setters and hence we see providers such as ALDI and Woolies mobile (who use Telstra Wholesale) hiking their prices too.
I'm sure if the ACCC looked into the recent excessive price hikes they would find that there is no real justification for it except to give their shareholders a bigger return. Just like the Coles and Woolies excessive price hikes, they think they have a captive market and can do as they like.

Shame they don't write when the Sim must be activated by. (Expiry)

You can still get some Boost $230/160gb sims on eBay for around $190-$200 if you don't need as much data

    • Got a link handy ?

    • Wondering does it $230 sim still can be successfully activated? Its no longer on the website. Thanks

      • +1

Yeah they have a variety of expiries in 2025 through to 2026 depending what you buy so should activate fine.

it shows 260gb on the link. NOT 265gb

      Thanks, fixed the title.

    Hi All,

Expiry date for activation of the sim is September 2025. We are low on stock at the moment but will be getting more stock in couple of days and the sims will be available to order once again.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Love me boost but at roughly $21 a month (purchasing 260g with sim) definitely not seeing the value. I can go Woolworths for $25 a month for 22Gig and get 10% off woolworth's shop. Easy to spend $100 and get $10 off the shop per month. I'm sure Boost coverage is slightly better but we already have one woolworths mobile prepaid plan and no issues.

    • Boost has always been good connection, as it uses the full Telstra coverage, and not their wholesale coverage other vendors get.

      • Yeah, for me wholesale coverage is fine. I live somewhere that anything but Telstra network is madness. The wholesale network is fine, so I can't see the value in Boost anymore. I'd never use Optus or Vodafone here as there is sweet (profanity) all coverage. Wholesale is light years ahead of those two in coverage.

        • Oh Woolworths uses Telstra does it?

          • @IJustKnowStuff: Yes. Not as good as Boost but light years better than Optus and Vodafone here. So for $25 a month with Woolworths I get almost similar coverage for me, same data but also 10% off at Woolworths. Boost with a SIM to port in and out is like $20.80 a month.

If I'm currently on a Boost 12-month, can I use this when my current one expires (and keep the same number)?

    • +1

Please see my reply to the first comment.

  • I'm currently on Telstra, can I port over to Boost?

    • Hi @ Sleepucat3,

Yes you can port to Boost mobile with your same number. Takes about 5 mins if you call Boost Mobile and do it over the phone, If you are with Telstra prepaid then you can port over straightaway from the boost website.https://prepaid.activate.boost.com.au/welcome

      Thank you

Price beat at officeworks $234.65 have receipt

  • I did try to price beat at officework near Keysborough, the staff said it can't as there were no item code to match :(

    • Was able to price beat via their customer care number. Was hassle free. All I had to provide was the product code from the Officeworks website and the cellpoint.com.au web address.

      • Worked for me over the phone too

  • Is there an e-sim option

Buy the physical Sim, then convert to esim via Boost app. It's pretty straightforward and took about 5 mins when I did it last time about 6 months ago.
