The Hub is not compatible with Zigbee products from other manufacturers. However, most Aqara products are compatible with Apple Home, Alexa, and Google Home via the Aqara Hub, where you can potentially work with products from other manufacturers. To fulfill your main requirement, the best way is to use the Aqara Home app via the Aqara Hub
You need Home Assistant or similar to do it quickly and properly. Hope you're not running time critical automation via Google Assistant.
Some Aqara sensors are wifi from memory but a lot are ZigBee. You can run them off a generic ZigBee hub or dongle provided you use Home Assistant or something similar. Other hubs like IKEA or Hue will be less likely to work. Smartthings may work but lots of people eventually abandon Smartthings due to out growing it's basic capabilities.
no, just doing timed interactions, lights on at 5pm , lights off at 6am .
my mirabella genio sensors i have at 2 choke points atm - they are practically instant notification of movement via genio app - unfortunately does not seem to be available anymore.
Genio sensors are probably Tuya based like most of their other products. Try Smart Life and log in with the same credentials. Tuya motion sensors based on wifi are very battery hungry and have long cool down periods as well to try and save battery
@0 0 0: I agree used to blow up the cr123 in no time , luckily this one also accepts usb feed. It’s great.
I'll 2nd 10101010101 that for mixed zigbee products Home Assistant is the way to go.
I have a bunch of Aqara sensors on my network you can either pair them directly to a zigbee dongle on your home assistant server or use an aqara hub and then link that to Home Assistant (via matter) so those sensors can interact with your other devices.
Generally speaking, avoid hubs and get 1 decent dongle that supports everything I use a smlight slzb-06
That only put the doorbell down to $199. I'll wait for it to be $149 again
$39 for 1x Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor ooof. Last time I bought them they were like 3x for $20 I think
20% off the smart locks seems like a good deal, eg. Aqara Smart Door Lock A100 for $359.99.
hi rep
i am looking to add a bunch of motion sensors / door and window sensors to my hacked together security setup which is currently made of mirabella/imou/eufy gear.
am i right in just understanding this just needs a hub (i was thinking of the most basic one, E1) - and then a bunch of p1 sensors for motion at choke points, t1 for doors and windows, and maybe some temp sensors because why not.
my main requirement is must be quick to notify on sensing.
currently have a few google homes running around the place, so if it can play nice with that, thats even better.
am i also correct as this works on zigbee network, will the hub be compatible with other zigbee products from other manufacturers (eg ikea and hue)?
i dont really care about using the sensors to trigger events right now - but i do have access to zigbee related lighting goods so would be good if i can get it all working together.
