So… how does this compare to, say a 6600mAh Kogan Battery pack?

    http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/universal-6600mah-power-bank-bat…

    • The biggest difference is the capacity and the shape. also the they're from different Brand.
this one have 8 adapter connectors, if you need I can send you the images.

    not really a deal,

There are plenty out there with better capacity, better design and better price. Even the kogan one is better at $2 more. dx.com, mertline buyingcoins focalprice and all those other cheapo places have plenty that do the job. (and probably out of the same factory in guangdong.

My advice is get a AA powered usb one from dealextreme for way cheaper and recharge as many batteries as you need for a camping trip / mega long cheap flight etc

    I have this one http://dx.com/p/2-aa-powered-usb-emergency-battery-charger-w…

I just keep a fistfull of rechargeable on my desk and unload them into my bag before going on trips.

Also, if you run out of time you can always buy more charge at a convenience store in the form of AA batteries
    digital hobo for life yo'

    • How many charges would you get out of a set of AA batteries with one of those bad boys?

      • two AA's fill an iPad 3 or an iphone4s (sometimes almost both)

they drain quick but they charge quick.

dude i have that one, its crap because there is power loss as it converts the voltage higher.

        • I fly to boston via dallas from brisbane a bit..
as a general rule I take 6 fully charged batteries and leave home with my phone and tablet fully charged.

I make it home after every trip without having to recharge the AA batteries.

this means I watch movies, play games and generally lurk on airport wifi during 2-6 hour layovers in dallas airport or while waiting in terminals. the 6 batteries have always been all i needed for door-to-door times of up to 25-40 hours

        • Two AAs will recharge an ipad 3? Or even an ipad 3 PLUS iphone 4s? I don't believe you.

    • actually I also own this thing http://dx.com/p/usb-aa-aaa-battery-charger-11388 its finnicky but crazy useful to have stashed in my bag.

couple it with a usb wall socket plug and you'll always be ready for the zombie apocalypse ( if you are in a place with a power socket you can use that to charge your rechargeables (after your phone/tablet/whatever has charged of course) giving you twice the charge on the go

  • kogan's pretty good.

i have a cheap emergency charger that uses AA batteries. you need around 14 eneloops to be equivalent to the 6600mah model.

I think I'll buy the kogan one. Price wise it seems good, but are the advertised capacities correct?

Not sure if this interests anyone my new 10,000mAh battery pack from eBay has been fantastic for a no-namer. I saw someone recommend it here or on whirlpool I forget which but they were happy with it so I got one too (aussie seller) and so far it's been good. Has LED and 2 ports, 1A + 2A charging. For $39 can't complain.

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121018…

EDIT: I get about 3 charges on my Samsung GNote 1 (2500mAh) so I dunno what acceptable power loss is on these things but even if its only 7500 I'm happy with it.

  • Absolute ripoff. Not worth the price unless you love the design. 4800mah should only cost about $15-$20

      links please

      • Have you looked at andyfitz's post? Chuck two ni-mh batteries in there and theoretically you have a capacity of 4800-5200mah. Just above me, click_it has posted an example of one with 7500mah actual capacity (10,000mah theoretical capacity with a 75% efficiency rate which is not bad).

I'm inclined to believe that this product is 4,000mah theoretical. After efficiency loss, it's more like 3,000mah.

    • I bought a $15-$20 and it is less than 4800mah.

Yoobao is a reputable chinese brand so should be accurate.

    On your website

    "Free Shipping:

As you can see in our site, we provide free shipping for all orders,We send these items by registered airmail.Delivery usually takes anywhere from 10-12 business days under normal circumstances, depending on the country. You can track your package using the airmail tracking number."

This means that you are either shipping from HK or CN. OZ3DS? OZ??? Misleading name making people thinking its from AU.
    (STRIKE ONE)

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Yoobao-External-Battery-4800mAh-i…
Local ebay seller. Almost same price but local shipping.
    (STRIKE TWO)

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Yoobao-4800mAh-Portable-USB-Charg…
Overseas seller i.e. same as you. But cheaper.
    (STRIKE THREE AND YOU'RE OUT)

NEG as obviously not a deal.

    • our site is not from AU, but it's specially for people in AU. so we choose this name.
however, I don't think its misleading.

  • I would say this is about regular price within a $1 - $2 range of basically any other brand around 5000mah. After postage and handling is added to other sellers. At-least for other sellers you save on shipping by ordering multiple items.
