  • I just tried to pay via PayPal, it authorised it and took it from my account, but upon return to JB it went back to the cart page. Are they getting overloaded or something? It should have thrown me back to the payment page.

  • It looks like they released some more stock back to the website. When sorting low to high on all refurbed the M2 13 air showed back up a few minutes ago and could add to cart and pay, but it wouldn't open either of the pages.

I ordered and paid for a 256 and a 512 in separate orders assuming I'll be lucky if either are fulfilled. I'll have a spare for somebody locally if they do.

Some bargains were in there. The 512Gb Macbook Air models went quickly. I have a 2018 Macbook Pro 13, and it still goes along pretty well. I was on the fence about going for a Macbook Air 15 model, but they sold out, and the 8Gb argument popped into my head. I ended up hammering the credit card for a Macbook Pro 14 M2 Pro, 16Gb memory, 512Gb SSD. I figure that will last me for another 6 years, and I can sell my current one on. Considerably cheaper than buying a reurbished unit from Apple themselves, and way cheaper than a brand spanking new one. More than enough power to be able to do 4k video editing and other tasks.

    • How much did you get it for?

      • It was $999, actually the same price as the 256gb. I had one in my cart and it sold out as I was checking out 😭

      • Oh wait I just realised the commenter said 16gb. Never mind!

Good tip - if you ask nicely JB live chat may give you an extra discount. I managed to get 15' M2 Air 512gb for 1180. ($110 saving) Happy spending.

No dice - all 404s now

  • all gone :(

  • I wonder how "renewed" these products are in terms of blemishes, scratches and battery life

    • Who cares, buy now and regret later. /s

      • Except it’s all OOS now

        • Regret now, buy next deal

  • Any tip's on a cheap but reliable USB C to A adapter?

  • +2

I had a chat with JB online and managed to get $5 (haha) discount on M1 Air, down to $744. I am pretty happy with it. The agent said there were only two left.

    • That's the spirit. Celebrate any win big or small.

    • Received it yet? How's the battery life/condition? Cheers

      • +1

    • +1

Where do you find the cycle count info?

    • Feel that part of the sale was to bump EOFY numbers. Disappointed

  • Ordered the 14 Pro 1tb, shipped on 27 due to arrive in WA 8-11Jul according to Auspost. Given others have already received with low cycle counts and original box, could these be store demo units?

    • It could be demo units, when did you ordered your? I ordered mine 1:37 pm 27 June but mine has not been shipped yet. I am in WA as well.

      • 10:53am 26 June. Which model did you order?

        • MacBook 16 512gb. I was trying to get the Max but someone managed to get it while I was talking to my local JB for the link

        • Please let us know how is the condition once you received it

          • @AirJordan23: Just received it. Box looks like someone handled it with greasy hands quite violently. Almost immaculate with a tiny nick on the Apple Logo, not really visible. Battery cycle 10. Paperwork in the box missing. Charger looks unused, cable definitely used. Mac needed a clean as had some sticky residue. Battery cycle 10. Warranty is out, Apple coverage shows purchase date June 2023. These are definitely demo units JB had in store. They must have consolidated all these and shipped them to a central location for sale as 'renewed'.

            • @IcedTiramisu: I would question the warranty - the JB website for Apple "Renewed" products clearly shows "12 months manufacturer's warranty"

              • @bauser99: Yep, I am waiting on JB Hifi chat to confirm this.

              • @bauser99: Below is response from JB hifi chat, looks like need to contact Apple on this.

                Thanks for contacting us.

In regard to warranty on the product, it would fall under our >$2000 A*, shown on the image found here https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/360053005194…

In regard to the Apple warranty, it a 1 year warranty, however you will need to contact Apple in regard to is showing under the device information.

            • @IcedTiramisu: Battery cycle at 10 is still good imo

  • +1

The suspence on my order is killing me!
    Serenity now!

    • Did you get a shipping confirmation? Which did you order?

      • MacBook air m2 256gb

        Not shipped

        Delayed

There's been a delay processing your order from our store, our team members are working to get your order on the move as soon as possible.

        • Oh, when is your estimated date of delivery anyway?

        • +1

Same here, when I checked now I can see that there is delay in my order as well.

          • +1

@AirJordan23: Next Thursday, in Sydney area.
I think there's 50/50 they have in stock round the back, or they find out there are none left😅
Praying for you and me brother/sister

            • +1

@The1WhoGotAway: Thanks Mate. Let's see how it goes.

              • +1

@AirJordan23: I raised a support ticket and got the same cancellation message as the guy above. I ordered last Thursday on the third batch. Frustrating how the order went through but no dice 😒
Guess I will look to buy a brand new one through education store.

                • @The1WhoGotAway: There are a couple of “Renewed” MacBooks still available

                  • @bauser99: The ones I can see are back up in price 😓 next time like others said, buy now regret later

Mine just arrived to Brisbane. Macbook Pro 16 inch, M2 Pro, 16GB/512GB. Battery cycles is 2. I am very very happy with it. Looks in perfect condition and cost me $2200. It came with original box, charger, magsafe cable. As somebody else mentioned the box is in pretty average condition but the laptop itself looks brand new.

    • Nice! Good on you Mate! Enjoy!

  • +1

Just got a tracking number for my 256gb M2 13" Air, after my 512 order was cancelled. (I ordered both suspecting that one or both wouldn't be fulfilled). Would've preferred the 512 but the 256 will do the job for what I need as a 2nd computer.

  • Ordered MBA15 and arrived with 3 cycle counts. Good deal indeed.

  • Ordered the MBA15 and it's on 5 battery cycle counts, no marks.

    • What about warranty?

      • Purchase Date according to Apple is August 2023.

        • Weird - JB is advertising "renewed" Apple products as covered by 12 months manufacturer's warranty.

Does Apple show an expiry date for your warranty? August 2024 perhaps?

          • @bauser99: Correct, waiting a few days to see if this updates before contacting Apple with my receipt and seeing what they say.

  • +1

I ordered MacBook Pro 13 2022 M2, 8GB RAM, 256GB because of this post and it just arrived today. I was hoping for a low cycle count like others have gotten but mine was a bit more at 52 and a limited warranty according to sys info to October 2024.

The thing that pissed me off though was how it was packaged. The laptop was sitting on a bunch of those bags of air with nothing on top and a grubby old charger was sitting to the side. No original box like many of you.

    • How was the condition of the Macbook itself?

      • It's actually pretty good. Only minor scratches in a few places which is surprising if it was a demo out long enough to be charged 52x.

    • If you are not happy with the condition of the MacBook you could always return it based on the shorter than advertised warranty period.

      • True, but this is my gateway Mac and I'm trying to transition since every other proper developer uses a Mac.

  • I ordered the MacBook Air M1 256GB. Asked them for a deal and they did it for $695 - absolute bargain! It arrived today in a generic box with only the charger however the MacBook and the charger both look brand new. Having booted it up, it says the cycle count is 1. Thanks to the original poster, I feel I got a great deal!

It says Apple coverage has expired - any idea if there is a way to register it given how new the MacBook is?

    • given how new the MacBook is?

      It's not though

Condition is but the device isn't, so no, probably not

  • +1

    Finally received my MBA 15 M2 256GB

In original box (a little bashed up but well packed inside a brown box with bubble wrapping)
Nothing missing inside the box including power pack & magsafe cable & Apple stickers & Quickstart guide
    Looks brand new
    Cycle count 13
    Running Ventura 13.5.1
    Warranty expires 7 August 2024

Very happy besides the "30 days warranty" but I took a screen dump of the JB website when I ordered it and it clearly showed "12 month manufacturer's warranty"… not quite sure if I should follow this up with JB or Apple?

    • I tried to follow up with JB but no one seemed to know much, probably check with Apple which I haven't tried, report back if you do find out something from either please.

      • I’d assume the 12 month advertised warranty is through JB themselves, not Apple.

Keep in mind though that Apple cover Mac devices for 3 years under Australian Consumer Law. It’s on their website in the legal section, a quick Google search should bring it up.

It’s essentially the same as the standard warranty, it just needs mentioning and sometimes defending.

Pretty dissapointed. My 13" M2 256 Air arrived today. Brown box, as another poster said just a couple of air bags under the laptop, nothing on top (laptop not remotely secured - bouncing from corner to corner of box with no protection) with the charger and cable thrown in. Lots of deep scratches on the bottom of the macbook. Covered in dust and fingerprints. 85 cycle count. 94% max battery.

    • That sucks that you had the same experience as me. Are you going to return it?

  • Has everyone received their Macbooks?

    • Still waiting for mine. 512gb M2.

  • Just received mine now. basically brand new. Battery cycle count 3. No box though. Just bouncing in a box with charger and cable. Surprised how there a no scratches.
