        Of course but with gas you can be ready in 5 minutes and have your steak in no time. Said that, these bbq have bars under the grill that when in contact with the fat dripping from above create the smoke that helps with flavour

          @Laziofogna: This ^^^ …I was only slightly joking…the BBQ flavour in these is real, but not smoked as such (but then, charcoal isn't really smoking either….somewhere in between maybe).

  Is there much difference between this and the new generation? I'm in the market for a Q2000 but not sure if I should pull the trigger at this price for this gen?

    the new ones have an additional gas burner tube for low & slow / extra heat. The 2200 is better with the higher lid, electronic ignition & inbuilt temp gauge worth the extra $$

        no it's the new 2800 model which has. I was referring to the old model 2200 being better than the 2000 due to the extras
