Optimus prime not using eneloops?
Bumblebee sad face :(
Why did you get negged, gotcha back!
Thanks OP … got 2
Got 6.
Good for Secret Santa gifts where budget is $20.
This is too nice for secret santa. Isn't it meant to barely dissapoint? Or just disapoint? Like chocolates or a random gift wrapped book from your company's book shelf
Great idea! Ordered 4.
Thanks ordered two @ different stores, better chance at least receive one. I’ve had my items cancelled too many times due to stock…
Those little Arlec headlamps are 100 lumen, not sure how useful this 65m beam distance claim is is at 90 lumen …
not sure how useful this 65m beam distance claim is is at 90 lumen
Yeah, how can 90 lumen do 65m beam distance?
probably means you can see it from 65m away. Just like my phone screen in the dark.
I'd be shocked if it did. Doesn't look like a thrower type torch.
Technically speaking though, some "cheap" LEP flashlights can hit over 1km with less than 500 lumens - the hotspot at that distance would be like 30cm diameter.
Thanks OP, I have one and it is great and very durable.
These are good for school camps and during blackouts.
You can stand it upside down in the bathroom or on kitchen table, and set it so the light glows out of the white tip - don't need to hold it, and good enough light to brush teeth, etc.
I've had one for years. Rarely needed, but they are handy when the time comes. Would definitely recommend.
Really needs a USB powered one…
There are plenty around already and most USB powered ones typically use a lithium battery which may be not replaceable and not as safe to keep in the car (which I think this will be useful for) compared to alkaline batteries.
a lithium battery which may be not replaceable and not as safe to keep in the car
if you don't keep the torch in direct sunlight it should be fine. Although i keep a little 6 pack hard esky in the boot with first aid, torch, jumper pack in there so they don't get cooked.
But yeah I like alkaline batteries because they last.
why is keepingi in car less safe?
the theory is the heat degrades the battery (and some alarmist worry about it exploding/catching fire) . But if it's in the glove box/centre console it's unlikely to get excessive hot.
No recharging on this one?
No recharging which is what makes this good i think. You can easily replace the battery with Eneloops or other rechargeable batteries. No need to worry about water ingress through the charging port.
Page is giving a '404 page not found' error, same when you search on their website directly. I'm guessing Santa has made a surprise visit and taken all the stock for the boys and girls who both love Jesus and low cost lanterns.
works for me. try on different device or browser?
Thanks, I went back and it's indeed now working, same device. I'll keep what you said in mind though moving forward, much obliged.
Still works for me
Not sure why I need it, but with 90+ upvotes it must be good … so I got two delivered via OnePass.
Personally I find these underpowered lights waste of space. Its probably good for a small kid who still tends to look into the light - so they don't harm their eyes.
But if you actually need a torch for something useful, especially if for emergencies I'd get something much better. Not enough room in the house to have all this junk.
They are powerful enough for a blackout at home and the lantern is useful. If you are going into the bush, then you'd probably want something more powerful but still doable.
25+ years ago, people went camping with 100 lumens or even less.
Yes, agreed. But IMO one should only get one or two "more powerful camping" torches . because that works very well for blackout too. Why have several torches in the cupboard and then take out the crap one when in a blackout? I literally don't have enough room in my home to have a worse versions of stuff in case I don't need the full quality/ability version.
@ripprind: A lot of people dont go camping or outdoors at night so dont need anything more powerful that is also more expensive. Why waste money on things you will never use?
@8azinga: I agree, if this is all the torch 🔦 you need then this is a good deal 👍

200 hours on lantern mode! about 8 days, not bad..
Thanks, OP. This should be adequate for lighting my shed in winter.
This is less bright than the 'free' ($8 shipping) Olight torches, which are actually useful because of how tiny they are.
Pay day today. Bought 3. Don't know what for. Thanks OP 😀
Not sure I needed them, purchased two just in case.
Thanks OP. Hopefully they are slow in delivery. I'm out of town currently
Thanks, bought 10. Hopefully they fast in delivery. I'm in town currently.
Thanks OP, bought 6. Hopefully they are middle in delivery. I'm in between the town and out of the town currently.
The mode cycle is press once for the normal torch, press again within about 3 seconds to change to lantern, press a 3rd time to get to flashing red lantern. Turns off if with 4th press or if you leave it longer than 3 seconds.
Most of the light is focused to a small spot in middle with warm colour. The lantern light is whiter.
Seemed to be brighter than a wuben C3 set to 2nd lowest brightness (80 lumens) but beam pattern also helps as the central spot is smaller.
Thanx OP!! Got one! Free del with 1Pass :)
Just ordered some to keep in the cars and for power outages. Thanks
This light bundled with a headlamp was $10 6 months ago at Bunnings.
It was better value and the headlamp works really well.
Received mine but can't get the torch to turn on. The lantern white "area" light and flashing red one work by pressing the button to cycle through the modes but the torch seems faulty and never comes on. Anybody else have this issue? Any suggestions to minimise hassle and fix/return/replace it, please?
if you buy 10 the other 9 might work.
I also had similar problem initially: only the white area light and red flashing was working. However if you press the button for a longer time, the torch will work. Then next time if you press the button and release quickly, only the torch works. Just play around your button.
NO documentation.
I ordered two. Returned one of them as the torch wouldn't turn on no matter how long the button was pressed.
I find one more feature. It has magnet at the bottom so can stick to a metal if horizontally.
nice find. stick on my fridge for now.
Cheers OP. Got x 2 delivered. The 4 batteries in itself cost ~$8.
