First time poster long time stalker.

Think this is a pretty good deal taking into account the 'Bonus $300 Harvey Norman Gift Card''

Take into account it is a Large 12kg Washing Machine, and a slightly larger than usual 9kg heat pump.

I think the LG's are okay in the Washing and Drying department.

Moe: Thats the worst name I’ve ever heard.

  • Is LG dryer reliable?

  • I quite like LG washing machines. However, I googled the part number and found this on Product Review which in all fairness, people usually post negative reviews. https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/lg-wv9-1412w-12kg

I am however looking for something around this size and it is currently around the $995 mark for the washer at the usual retailers.

    • LG usually make ok washers, but geee the recent reviews are really bad.

      • There are way more 5* reviews at TGG though. The price match window popped up offering me the washer at $978.

        • Unfortunately, those reviews are made say 4 week after purchase.. it's the long term reviews that are more important.

Bosch series 6 - 9kg made in china

      • I have a Chinese made Bosch, can't fault it.

I have this model, and it has started having some of these problems. it's less than 3 years old. I've noticed an occasional leak, and an intermittent problem with the control board. can't say I'm impressed, and am not looking forward to dealing with lg. I've started researching other machines again, and will prob never buy an lg one again.

Try your hand with ACCC threats or claims. There's an expectation that whitegoods such as washing machines, fridges, and TVs should last around 5-7 years.

from my 1 and only experience of owning a LG heat pump dryer TD-C901H - I do not recommend
    - design flaws (lint trap did not work properly - it was a know issue that essentially ruined the condenser thing underneath the machine)
    - clothes / sheets / towels rolled into a ball every time
    - 3hr dry times for cotton, clothes still not dry more often than not
    - water tank full error continuously, even when plumbed into drain (not even using water tank)
    - unable to clean condenser without fully dismantling the machine -not fun.

my 1 experience of owning a LG washing machine on the other hand - 10/10 would buy again (bought in 2009)
    - WD13020D
    - washes anything you can fit in it
    - won't die
    - replaced door seal once for $30 from eBay - easy
    - quick washes, good spin cycle

I think I'm going to get this though:
$2592 Bosch Series 8 9kg/9kg Laundry Package WGG24401AUWQG24201AU - from appliances online ($400 Visa card from Bosch after purchase)

also don't buy anything from HN. that's the vibe on here

    • someone just posted in forums few days ago saying their Series 8 dead in 8 years. made in germany really? ymmv.

      • I hear you - I think I had a pretty lucky run with the LG.

        • yeah just thought I should mention it because it was very recently.

    • That's a nice deal on the Bosch package.

    • You might have the same condenser issue with the Bosch, or any unit really that doesn’t have a removable one. Lint and dirt etc. builds up over time and eventually leads to failure of the unit.

      • Can you elaborate a little? This doesn't make sense to me. I have a regular dryer and we clean the removable looks filter every week. Are you saying the heat pump dryers don't have this? That seems stupid from the manufacturer of that's the case.

Heat pump dryers will have a lint trap, but particles smaller than the holes in the lint trap can build up on the condenser, which is laid out much like a car radiator - a series of closely packed fins. Basic ones should provide access to clean the condenser, and fancy ones are self-cleaning using the collected water.

    • Price has dropped on the Bosch combo, now $150 cheaper…

  • Ended up going with:
    - Hisense HWFS1015AB 10kg Front Load Washer @$762
    - Hisense HDFS90HAB 9kg Heat Pump Dryer @ $1138

Checked out the Bosch's but the boss didnt like the aesthetic.
I was adequately scared off of the LG range from here.

How bad did I stuff up getting the Hisense pair…

    • If you don't mind me asking, which retailer did you order it from for $762?

      • @benspawn sorry just saw this
Was good guys doing the ‘this is the best I can do’ dance with me while I ummed and ahhed. Still $50 delivery for the two units

  • Are all LG washing machines made in Korea?
