Like many of you lately, I've been chopping till my hearts content with my new Ozito recip saw. Unfortunately the included blade is pretty basic and seemingly holding me back so I went hunting around for the extremely well reviewed Diablo versions. Found this deal which seems to cover all bases of use with a quantity that should keep you going for quite a while. Included in this set is:

4 x 6" - Metal
4 x 6" - Wood & Metal (ie floorboards with nails)
4 x 6" - Wood
1 x 9" - Wood
1 x 9" - Carbide tipped general purpose (including case)

The carbide blade alone is $36 at TT/Bunnings currently so a decent little pack of extras.

The closest comparison I can find is this set at Bunnings for $76.25 but even that has a slightly different product code

  Great blades, good price. Based on previous deal comments, a few tips:

  • None of these blades are suitable for gardening (pruning) as their tooth count is too high. You want a 3tpi or lower blade for pruning.
  • These are for demolition, not for precise cuts.
  • The carbide blade included is extremely durable, designed for cutting through nails embedded in wood. It will not last forever, so don’t waste the teeth on general purpose cutting.
  • Based on the above, use the blades for their designated tasks to maximise lifespan. ie, don’t use a metal blade on wood, don’t use the carbide blade on metal or bare wood.

    Yes, they're interchangeable, it's a standard fitting.

  Oh I didn't even notice the Dewalt deal before posting - note that these are the absolute ducks nuts of blades.

    I'm almost certain that the DeWalt blades will just be a rebranded blade whereas Diablo are in the business of manufacturing quality blades.

      I would go Diablo. I haven't tried DeWalt but I have tried Ryobi, full boar, Irwin and kango. Diablo is the best in my experience.
