Thanks, was just wondering if worth to sign up for a month, but most of the matches are during midnight and only can watch a few weekend game.

    • +8

Totally worth it for the mini matches if you are a true football fan. But i pay a mate who is an optus customer $7 a month for the privilege. Maybe ask around if someone you know is with optus and give them $10 or a 6-pack or something if it is only a month.

      • Will I get that for free if I purchase a prepaid phone plan?
        Thanks

      • What's the difference between mini matches on Optus and highlights on YouTube?

        • Based on my experience with stan, mini matches are much longer than basic highlights on YT. which are just few mins usually.

        • The mini matches are about 20 minutes of actual gameplay. Just the perfect amount of time to watch all the worthy moments in the game and have a feel of how the game went as opposed to highlights which is usually just the goals and goal replays.

    • They also have the rights to Copa America which starts next weekend. The games will be in the morning (8, 10 and 11 am kickoffs QLD time) so can watch a bit at work during breaks and on the weekends.

Hey guys. If anyone it's interested to have access of watching any match for free I think I have a couple of solutions via VPN.

    • Dm??

    • Want us to DM you if interested? Or will you decide whether to share based on the number of upvotes? :)

      • +5

I can share here. I haven't tested it yet. So in UK it will be free to stream all matches on BBC iPlayer, ITVX. So technically if you make accounts on those platforms with VPN ON to UK you should be able to watch the games for free. But again it's not tested.

        • It worked for the FA cup.

        • Easier is real debrid, stremio and sportsfire on a fire stick :)

          • +3

@Skinnerr: You can watch live on stremio?

          • @Skinnerr: can you explain this one for us pls?

            • @bbeatl: There's a few steps involved and I'm no expert but I was watching the England game this morning live, via a. Zimbabwe in English link. I'll find you the steps and guide I used.

            • @bbeatl: Go here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15311909/redir read though the comments. Go to reddit here https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/comments/15agu2p/stre… this is all mainly for the Netflix side. Sportsfire is what you want for live sports. I'm not sure if you need real debrid or not for sportsfire so that's for you to research. I can watch dozens of world sports channels 24/7, navigating just as easily as Kayo with my remote. Ive been watching the nba finals on ABC, it's amazing. The quality isn't 100% but it's free so w/e.

            • @bbeatl: You don't need real debrid for sports streaming. Just patience, as sometimes the streams fail and you have to find a new one.

    • I was able to watch the Germany v Scotland match on my PC by switching my VPN to the UK and using itvX

Its sad how the greedy streaming service providers have taken over sports.

In 2014, i used to pay $40 a month to watch almost any sports I wanted on Foxtel.

Now I need to signs to atleast five different providers to watch the sports i like.

    Im sick of it.
I think everyone is sick of it.

I sail the high seas…. Arrrrrr

      • Arrrrrr matey

I feel you but to be fair, the rights to broadcast those sports are much more now than 10 years ago. Plus the on-demand replays, mini matches and highlights readily available on all your devices is a much better experience than what foxtel offered.
Having said that, I only have optus plus an IPTV service.

My opinion: All national (international) sports should be free to watch as they are predominantly funded by the taxpayer.

    • +6

Also, everyone seems to forget Optus failed spectacularly when trying to stream the World Cup in 2018. They ended up handing over the streaming to SBS.

    • +1

The other frustrating thing is that sport on Foxtel satellite/cable 15 years ago had significantly better video quality than Optus Sports do today.

At least Kayo has finally upped their game with 4K on selected sports (admittedly it’s relatively low bitrate still).

    • So you preferred the Foxtel monopoly?

  • +4

Why aren't we in this tournament??? We are a part of Europe now. Just tell them we're willing to send over Guy Sebastian and Dami Im to do the half-time entertainment and we should be sweet.

    • +5

Please save us the embarrassment. If anything, we need to get out of Asia and back into Oceania.

    • +1

Because Albania would crush Australia 3-0

Secret tip. Go on X / Twitter and search “[Team you want to watch] stream”. E.g England stream

Watched quite a few EPL games this way recently and assume it will be the same for Euro’s. Usually 3-4 streams available and good quality / instant load. If it cuts out just find another.

Do not use https://sport-linkers.com to stream games /s

Thanks for the tip, seems like a terrible idea.

      Why

      • Presumably because that would be piracy, which isn't allowed.

      It’s Southgate - the problem.

    Go Oranje!!!!

  • Germany 3 - 0 Scotland
    Over 2.5

    • +1

      That sounds about right.

    • I was thinking Germany 2-0. They are much superior team but Usually opening matches can be very tense for the home team. however I did not factor in Scotland being so rubbish especially their goalkeeper.

      • +1

Nah, germany usually thrashes the lousier teams and then chokes the semi or finals.

    • 😂

  • +7

Hopefully the Semis and Final are free, because when you sign up for a "month" you only get 28 days with Optus Sport, but the 15th of June to the final on the 15th July is 31 days…

    5:1! 🇩🇪

For future matches, if you're happy to watch it in German, just turn on your VPN and go to ZDF.de

    • DANKE!

      • Gern geschehen!

  • But the moment I sit down with a drink and food, someone finds work for me to do.
This deal is unobtainable for me. 😭😭😭

  • Go Scotland!!!🤣🤣
