  • Good deal for $100

  • Any laptops on sale?

    • use the same code as above here for laptops

  • +2

    No HDMI

    • +4

      2 x DP ports only

  • Does the M710Q have 2 x m.2 slots like the photos?

    • +2

      Only one on this lot

    • They all only have one underneath. You can always pull out the wifi and use an A/E key adapter but it won't be quite as quick due to the pcie lan limits. But plenty quick enough and still quicker than sata.

      • Yeah, but they had a dual m.2 image on their listing
        https://bufferstock.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/151059…

        • Oh. That is definitely an incorrect image.

I believe only the P-series have two M.2 slots there. There are kits to install/solder in a second slot there for some of the m920q versions but on some (including this one) the board doesn't even have the circuitry for it.

  • Does it have a TPM?

    I would think yes….

    • yes they do

  • Can Windows 11 be installed on these units?

    • +1

6400T isn’t on the windows 11 support list so you’ll have to do some workarounds, and you won’t get automatic updates.

If you want a cheap windows 11 PC maybe wait for something with an 8th gen chip inside for official support, or one of those n100 mini-PCs

      • Won't get updates? Where is this nonsense from? Lol

        • You only get security updates, but not major releases like 22H2, etc

Olympic see screenshot. Win 11 running on 6th gen CPU with win updates.

  • Should I get this to move on from Rpi 3b for pihole?

    • +6

Pi 3B should be more than enough for PiHole, this would likely just be a waste of energy.

      • Cheers, needed that validation otherwise I’m be 100$ worse off

  • +1

are these faster than firestick/google chromies?

  • hey OP, looking to get one M710Q for kid. does it have wifi built in?

    • +1

At the bottom of the page it says: 'Note : Unit comes without inbuilt WiFi'.

You could buy a cheab usb wifi dongle if you need wifi however.

      • thank you

  • Just what I needed. Thanks

  • Ordered, thanks!
Will be my backup pfSense router - currently using a HP 800 G2 mini which has been going strong for a couple years, but you never know.
Pretty happy with it's performance and power usage for what it does so this should be the same.

    • Are you adding a second NIC to this?

      • Nah, I just do router-on-a-stick method (managed switch with VLANs)
Don't have any issues with it especially with the speed of Internet Australia gets.

    • I was just thinking bout doing this … well at least setting up a pfsense server ..

  • Would this be good to start a very basic plex server for home use? What else would I need?

    • somewhere to store the media
