Just got an email that they're changing my 5G plan so I had a look and saw that JB Hi-Fi is giving a $700 JB Hi-Fi gift card on the plan they were going to move me to, so I guess I'll be cancelling and re-signing up..

How do we port away and get back on as new if we're already on a JB/Telstra plan (but have been on it longer than 24 months)….. I remember when I did this a couple years ago there was a method to do so?

Why would you need to for a mobile broadband service? There's no number to transfer, so just get a "new" connection and plug it in to whatever hardware you're using.

My 24 months is about to expire. I will go to another telecom to get a reality check before deciding if I am coming back to Telstra/JB. Their currently $99 plan used to be $89 with $10 sign-up credit and had a $1200 giftcard with it when I originally got it. Shame that plan is gone.
I looked briefly. 200gb plenty for me. Other cheaper plans but they top out at 50mbit.. I get about 300mbit on Telstra. Other plans are Telstra $85/month for 1000mbit but taking into account $700 voucher, I don't think I can find a better deal for my use. Last day tomorrow so looks like I'm going into my nearest store
Maybe it replaces with a better deal for EOFY?

Thanks, that's good to know. Also high speed compared to other plans which cap at 50/100mbit. This jb one after $700 gift card works out to $40/month for less data but 200gb is enough for me.

I'm annoyed because I'm essentially going from 300GB down to 200GB because the old one had 150GB bonus "You'll receive an additional 150GB of data for use in Australia each month, until you recontract, cancel your plan or move to an ineligible plan. Unused allowances expire monthly."
Technically I didn't recontract, reckon I can keep my 150GB bonus? Either way, no incentive to stay on this plan anymore…
Yeah I just realised I had 300gb too.. still don't really use 200gb so I'm ok. The $700 is still valid. I just went in and signed up for a new plan then cancelled my old one. Got the $700 card no problem.
Popped the new Sim in, no issues. I don't need to keep the old mobile number..
