I've been looking for a few months now and haven't really seen any sales since the $649 Diablo IV bundle deals from ~six months ago.
The cynic in me thinks Xbox will just release the 2TB at a higher price point because the storage is so advanced it costs $$ per GB /s
Im thinking the same, should have grabbed one earlier when the price was lower.
Not everybody want a digital only console, and the 2TB isn't enough reason to avoid the 1TB model.
I don't see the new digital only models selling more.
I know, I know, with GamePass the physical media is virtually dead ( I don't remember the last year I bought a disc ) but I only play very specific games like CoD, BF and Tomb Raider alike.
I haven't played/bought CoD since 2019MW after Activision destroyed it to push crappy relea$e$ which are now on GamePass, I am so playing CoD BO6 now under Microsoft ownership.
I have also been using my Series X as a Blue-Ray 4K UHD player and I am having a blast and because of that, I am ditching streaming service dramas and started my Blue-Ray 4K collection. No subscription, no internet required, no lack of catalogue, watch when I please.
You can expand the storage of any Series xbox for $$.

When are the new ones supposed to go on sale? I'm keen on a digital-only white Series X if it's going to be cheaper than the current $699 model (and can wait).
I'm not sure, but I did hear that the new 2tb disc is 599usd, 100 more then the current one so you might find the white one is the same price as the current disc drive model. And you'd be better value wise getting that, unless you are overly keen on the white one I doubt it's going to be cheaper.
