There seems to be suggested improvement by some-users @ OzBargain. You don't really know until you actual try it out YOUR-self.
Good & bad are relative to each commentators perspective…they are mere-words & hard to quantify. Also, your standard are likely different from their. Hence we're comparing apple with orange.
Feel free to visit a store & test out the camera YOUR-self, eg LOW-light etc.
Moto G54 & G84 phones do allow some set-up adjustments to improve photos & you can test these out YOUR-self. Auto-settings are for novice & likely to be teak…'trials & errors'.
@ab c: I have a moto edge 30 neo and overall I love it, BUT the camera has very limited settings, eg you CANNOT change resolution of pics, I had to download open camera for that function but it runs slow as half a horse

My stock Samsung camera failed me a lot on a recent trip. It would always crash when I had to switch between maps and camera.

Most likely too many apps running in the background of your samsung phone. I use "Hibernator" app available in google play store to manage the apps that I want to keep or not running all the time in the background. Better than force close apps one by one manually.
@neoleo: Ah thanks I didn't realise the apks were in your link. I installed MGC_9.2.113_A11_V12_ENG.apk (com.google.android.GoogleCameraEng) # and it goes well except I can't find the settings option to change storage to SD card.
@x x: Of course no option to change storage location because Pixel phones don't have external memory card slot … So, need to move photos in internal storage to external manually.
The settings in gcam are useful to improve the photo quality.
May be longer exposure-time etc ?

What is the next one up from G84 in Motorola? Edge 50 pro? I wonder what is their current best at around $500 when reduced.

Edge 40 pro is extremely old. It was a good deal when I bought edge 40 pro for $450 2 years ago, not now.

Yeah, it's a pity they took away the SD Card option in most Android phones.
I guess it allows them to charge more for the storage upgrade. You'll pay around $400 more for the 512GB Pixel, where you can buy a 512GB SD card for $40.
It's not only Google who've done this, OnePlus, Samsung, Xiaomi do it too now.

I'm using a much old Redmi Note Pro. Having this question as well. Phone is 7 years old and still running strong btw. Not 5G.
The only thing that concerns me about Motorola is once they are outside their warranty it seems to be very hard to find somewhere to repair them….

Guys I was reading the description of G84 on OW listing and they're providing 2 years of warranty on it. You reckon Mobilciti will also provide the same 2 years warranty on G84 or standard 12 months warranty?

Had the pixel 8, returned it. Now have the g54. Get the G54. Pixel 8 is awful. Camera is great, but battery life sucks, its sluggish, doesnt back up properly. Terrible terrible phone, and terrible customer service
You're making me glad I didn't get a Pixel at the end of last year. I ended up with a S23 Ultra… been trying to avoid Samsung for years due to all the bloatware but at the end of the day, this was the best option for my needs.
G54 will make a good back up travel phone though. I've heard the battery life has improved with the A14 upgrade.

Has anyone who bought G84 mobile having issues of device turning itself off while using it? It happened twice on Google maps and YouTube music. And twice while in the pocket. Inspite the fact that device cannot be turned off with any physical button.
