  • is this a good upgrade from S2721DGF?

    • This is lower Hz.
I can't see any benefit in changing your monitor for this one, except it's newer.

    • +2

      No. It’s a downgrade. S2721DGF has 165hz refresh rate.

    • +1

agreed with @ahdoor but will add the S2721DGF also has FreeSync and DisplayHDR 400. The S2725DS does have speakers, but I wouldn't want to listen to anything on them, if they're the same as my S2722DZ.

    • This I agree. It's the only alternative at this price point with the below trade off's.

      Speakers on omen
      Thiner bezel on dell
165hz on omen vs 100 on dell

    • Good deal. Both miles ahead of the VA G5 posted earlier - imo clearer in motion than the 240hz G7 as well.

    • Is there a 10% discount?

      • If you pay with Afterpay and use code APAY10

    • +2

I got this and can confirm it's suitable for business and pleasure. Super bright compared to most monitors I've used, clunky controls and no usb hub etc, but image quality and motion handling are both great

    • Bought it for $270 or $280 during the last deal, it's such a great monitor for its price!

IPS, QHD, 165hz, decent stand with multiple options for adjusting monitor's position, and its power supply is built-in (means you don't have one more power brick hanging around and stealing space, just a cord).

  • +3

Careful this one doesn't have freesync as opposed to my older S2721DS

    • I noticed that on the specs page.. very weird change on dell's part

  • +2

Looks like the update of the S2721DS.
    Differences I can see are:
    * Contrast increased from 1000:1 to 1500:1
    * Refresh rate increased from 75Hz to 100Hz
    * AMD FreeSync removed
Other specs appear to be the same.

    • looking at the hdmi connectivity it lists "VRR as per specified in HDMI 2.1"
Is there some VRR tech that's not gsync or Freesync?

    • I'm pretty sure this monitor also has the new Dell button design where they scrapped the power + 4 buttons underneath the screen and moved them to the back.

Personally not a huge fan, but doesn't really make a difference.

      • Yes I find I often accidentally turn it off whenever trying to make adjustments.

  • Are there Any GD KB and mouse deals?

  • Has anyone tried stacking this coupon with student/staff coupons ?

    • I have Dell rewards available, see forums - classified. If you are going to buy this one,you can consider it

  • There's a 32 inch 165hz curved Samsung for only another $20 from MSY. Seems like a way better deal.

  • +2

    I have a few of the S2721DS

Looks near identical to this. The S2725DS has slightly higher refresh rate at 100hz vs 75.

Very happy with the S2721DS. The only thing I would change is that the monitor stand would adjust to another 50mm to 100mmm higher

    • +1

I got one of those desk mounted monitor arms from Amazon and it works great.

  • +2
    • Agree. And this was an even better recent deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/847625

      • I’d rather get a Dell than a MSI or Acer tbh

        • I appreciate that, but to me it's not worth paying nearly 50% more for a low-end monitor bargain.

  • good price

  • I have two S2721DS and they’ve been perfect for work (software development). Had an issue with one of them a year in and Dell shipped me a replacement without any fuss.
