Audio quality is identical to plugged in CarPlay and I’ve noticed no touch screen or wheel button input delays, feels identical to wired CarPlay. Only difference is a slightly longer connection time when turning the car on.
some say there's a lag. I personally don't hwar any perceptible lag or sound quality issues when playing music from spotify. I don't use it for calls tho.
Do you listen to music ever without carplay/AA? Ie bluetooth directly or plug in?
I think you will be surprised at how much quality drops.
I still do wired in one of our cars and have this device on the other. I guess if your car has one of those upgraded Bose/Sony speakers or whatever comes with top of the models then maybe.
No difference in audio quality wired CarPlay or Carlinkit Wireless CarPlay for me. I would say I’m a tiny bit of an audiophile.
Has anyone tested this unit with aftermarket android head units? Thanks in advance
Looks like the original link is dead? Cheapest I can find is 40.51 after discount and before tax :/
How does the unit switch between apple and android? As my wife as android and I have an iPhone
Thought this was some dodgy noname brand but looked it up and seems legit. Much more expensive if buying locally. Thanks OP, bought one for each car.
Can you easily switch between phones?
You can set it to ask you to pick which phone to connect to each time you start the car - that's what we do.
Otherwise it'll auto connect to the previous one.
Only way to connect to a different phone mid drive is to unplug/replug to reboot the unit but no big deal there imo.
How do you do this?
What do you mean? It's an option in the settings.
@theguyrules: What settings? There's no option in android auto to change this and the device doesn't have its own app.
@hellbound: The box itself has settings. Im in the car right now, I'll take a pic.
@theguyrules: Ok it's too much glare to take a pic, but there's a screen when it first boots that says "connecting" to whatever. You can click cancel from there and there's a section.
Also there is a ton of settings if you connect to the devices internal webpage via IP when connected to it.
That's how you change the audio delay etc.

@theguyrules: Thanks, turns out you need to turn off bluetooth and manually connect to the wifi, then the IP address will resolve.
Anyone using on Toyota kluger 2022?
No
i have this. convenient but you have to be patient. takes a while to start up and also laggy. so when you hit next song, takes a second or 3 to actually go to next song.
other then that, its great that you don't have to take phone out of pocket or purse
The gripe I have with any wireless add-on is that it cuts the frame rates in half.
A smooth wired experience becomes a low frame-rate wireless experience. Enough such that I've gone back to wired CarPlay in two cars.
Does anyone know whether there is a full frame rate capable wireless dongle?
Did you change it from the default settings? What do you consider low/high frame rate?
I don't have a frame rate counter, but wireless is probably 2/3 or 1/2 the frame rate of wired.
I think some more powerful CarPlay adapters have a 30/60fps toggle. But none of the ones I've ever used had that option.
I have this. Worked well but then changed phones and now can't get out to link up. Any one have the same issue?
Got one for work. Use it every day and have no issues with it at all.
Not sure if the complaints about lag and delay is older models or a different model completely but mine is as smooth as the standard wireless aa in other cars. If not better.
I've got this one, and have also had the previous two iterations. All worked well but this one is near perfect for our setup. 2019 Skoda Kodiaq, iPhone 14 and S24+
I have a 2019 Kodiaq and an iphonexr and pixel. Nothing but headaches since buying this unit. Rarely connects to my XR and after pairing with the pixel as well, it just cycles through the connecting screens and rarely actually connects. When it actually does, usually near the end of the trip, the call delay for voice is about 2 seconds and the UI is lagging.
Do you think the fact that your phones are newer helps?
Says page not found when I click it?
have this but did not wireless carplay.
anyone know what is the problem?
*didn't work
Bought one - hopefully it works well in my PX3 Ranger
Thanks OP bought one. I have v2 and 90% it works perfectly but on occasions I have to unplug and plug it in since this is 3 versions later I hope it has all be fuxed i have rav4 2021 model
I have had one of these for a while and it works great. Bought another for the wife!
Bought one for new kia Sorento, let's see how it works with both android auto and carplay
I've got the Motorola MA1 and it works 99% of the time. There are a few certain spots where there's some sort of interference, and it'll drop out temporarily.
Has anyone had any improvement with one of these generic ones over the MA1?
anyone use this with old CR-V?
Thanks OP being eyeing these for a while
If anyone has a BYD Atto 3, I've seen that wireless carplay is coming in the next OTA update. So save your dollars!
For those who have this, what is the battery drain like on your phone?
I have wireless play built into one car, and was super excited by it. But 3 months on I would rather plug it in with the wire, because the battery was draining so bad on the phone, plus the phone was heating up.
It would be wonderful if there was a screen kit available for older vehicles, such as my 2011 Honda Jazz, which currently lacks a screen.
Yes! Search for car play screen. They are like the GPS unit from 25 years ago. Except only purpose is to display your phone, usually bigger than your phone.
There are a lot of options, too many. Look out for the power connection, you want normal port, not proprietary. Dual Bluetooth handy so your phone can connect to both your cars Bluetooth and the unit.
I purchased podofo 11.3" unit from AliExpress. Works well except for factory test every few weeks.
I'd buy another as Google maps a lot better than ancient onboard maps.
I am getting the message "Please purchase this item from our app"
do these work with aftermarket headunits with carplay / android auto… I have a sony ax3200
Keen to know if it works with aftermarket headunits also. I’m using CarPlay. Could only see reference to OEM in ad descriptions.
Yes it does as long head unit supports wired carplay/auto
if you go to coins it can be bought for $18.46 USD including GST
Could anyone suggest a device, that would keep both android and iphone commected simultaneously to the head unit?
I am driving a lot and making calls/listening to podcasts on my personal phone and also receiving/making work calls on work phone.
Unfortunately havent found a way to keep them
both connected.
Sold out :(
30s bootup. I'll wait until the tech gets better
Mine takes minutes!
How about this one? AU$32.04

For anyone interested, it’s back in stock!
Arrived yesterday. Was updated to a March 2024 firmware, but did another one as well. The supplied USB cable had issues connecting with my 2018 i30 Hatch. Changed it to the current cable I use for Wired AA and worked straightaway.
Connected using the supplied cable, connection keeps dropping on and off…
Will try with a new cable.
Anyone tried connecting Bluetooth to both iPhone and samsung phone to the product while in the car?
does it connect automatically to the last known device?
Mine had a dodgy USB cable and wasn't working until I tried another cable. Sounds like a common problem
Have an issue on a Samsung A53, where Andriod auto works.. but the phone data connection isn't working with mobile data on. Any advice?
Mine came really quick (took like 5 days).
But using it now for almost two weeks, I am getting some bugs with my VW.
When it's connected with CarPlay, 3/5 times the headunit screen input becomes frozen / locked…….. The screen itself is working and not frozen, I just can't change songs or anything even with the steering wheel controls. Only volume works.
So annoying so I've decided to go back to wired before I find out.
And sometimes CarPlay won't connect at all, might be USB related but this is much more rare.
I think I need to swap the USB and update the firmware
Been using for 3 weeks now on my Kia Sorento with both android and iPhone swapping.
No issues so far.
Anyone been able to update the fimware? If yes, what process did you use?
I have.. it's a bit difficult but you have to turn off WiFi after connecting to it and then use mobile data to download the firmware. Took me a few goes to do it. But there's a guide out there.
Is audio quality worse vs wired?
Expecting it to have the lag with inputs.
EDIT: I got 2 for our cars. Couldn't resist when they're that low. Remember seeing the earlier versions two years ago and worth a shot if they've updated the model. Can't be bothered with connecting the wire every time…
