why telstra, when you can easily get 10% off gc to shop at jb.

    • Might have trouble getting JB to match this as a Telstra ID is required

      • PM optus then, could even try ow, pretty easy to get ow gift card as well

Still more expensive at JB isn’t it?

$179 at JB less 10% off gc = $161.10 vs $149 at Telstra?

A good way to use those Telstra points.

Telstra screwed me over when they last were selling these at this price. Never delivered the pods and eventually I received a refund

    • +3

I fought them. They gave me my money back and $150 extra after making me buy them at JB. $150 was the extra since it cost $299 at the time in JB. Never buy from them again unless happy to wait an eternity.
Bought the pixel 7 256gb at the same time. Waited an extra 2 months or so to get that.

If you're looking for actually decent true wireless earbuds for a cheaper price, take a look at the Moondrop Space Travel which is around $33. See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/836754 for previous discussion - it's currently ~$1 more expensive than that deal.

Having used both, I honestly think it's worth the extra price to get the Pixel Buds Pro over the Moondrop Space Travel. The ANC, passthrough, isolation of the eartips, gestures, assistant integration and build quality are lightyears better, and the sound quality is noticeably better too (after adjusting the tuning using the Pixel Buds app). The Moondrop Space Travel case is really finicky, and paired with the unconfigurable "in-ear" detection to start playing music, you often get music blasting out when you're trying to put away your earbuds. I'd still recommend the Moondrop Space Travel for the price, though - they're still exceptional value for money in their price bracket.

In terms of bang for buck, I don't think anything can beat the $3.50 Temu earbuds that you have, but I wouldn't trust it to have good tuning or sound quality.

      • must say they remain the most appealing visually and stylish ones compared to everything I have seen, they should have made it much larger like a gummy drop in oblong shape. These mobs have never done any research on people's preference for aesthetics and styling department probably needs a makeover. What an ugly piece of polycarbonate. Looks like something you would whip out in the kitchen while making an omelette, $8.99 is the going price for such a piece of fugly trash.
        Michael Jackson moonwalk my foot.

    • That's where Airpod Pro's are amazing. I always lost a bud or case in the past, but now I can use the app on my watch to locate them and the case.

I actually use these earbuds with my iPhone of all devices. The touch control and sound profile are way better IMO compared to the AirPods Pro 2.

    • +1

These have much better bass response, but for me personally, the Airpod Pro 2's are much better in terms of sound signature, noise cancelling and touch control.
These (in blue) look better too imo. I agree though that these work perfectly with Apple devices.

Edit: And for $150, you can't beat these.

Is there anyone still working at Telstra?

Bought these from jb a couple of weeks ago
    For $300 they're so so
    For $150 they're a bargain.

    • yeah I got the non-pro for one fiddy. non-pro ones suck. I'd much rather $25 TOZO.

  • Using points got mine down to about $84. Here hoping Telstra do what they did when I bought the cheaper model for $50 and send me two sets!

Thanks OP. Need to replace my Sonys which I've never been a big fan of. Will see how these go

  • Newbie here to headsets/earbuds. Can someone please advice how these ones perform compared to over the ear headphones like bose quietcomfort or Sony as in comfort and sound quality wise.? Looking for something to watch movies quietly.

    • Comfort depends on your ear shape and size.

Quality is not as amazing as those big over the ear phones IMO. But it would work with TV. Occasionally some TV and bud combos can have a little lag.

  • Hmm, I can get them for $3 after using my Telstra points…should I get them, or wait for the Pixel Buds Pro 2's that are in the works and use the points for something else…?

I read that a lot of people have struggled with ear fitment, and having them fall out a lot…can anyone who has these comment? I realise it's very individual…

    • +2

I've been using them for couple of weeks now, in flights, running and gym. Never felt like they are gonna pop out. They fit perfectly and I haven't even changed the tips

  • +3

Everyone's ears are different. Having said that I use these while running and have never had a problem with them falling out or even feeling like they would fall out.

I use the large ear tips and I make sure to give them a slight twist when putting them in my ears.

  • Are these better or worse than Sony Buds XM4

  • Lot's of sales on these at the moment, new version coming out?

I hope they make one that actually stays in my ears…

  • Bought last one in-store from Echuca. No ID needed for in-store pirchases.

Curious to how these compare to Galaxy buds FE, can't find anything online.
