Yes, I no longer recommend Fire tv unless the user is technically savvy enough to setup and maintain third-party launcher themselves. Otherwise, the Fire tv experience is full of ads and getting worse everyday.
Google TV is also full of ads, but they don't actively disable you from blocking them.
Last I heard Amazon blocked the ability to use custom launchers…
Any recommendations for good launchers?
Does Stremio work well on these?
I have stremio working perfectly on the 4K firetv.
So no need for Max?
Is chromecast better
The Max has better specs. Up to you if you “need” the improved performance.
Stremio works fine, just takes more effort to install on fire tv. As it needs to be side loaded.
