These must be delayed stock as they were originally from the 11 May catalogue: https://www.aldi.com.au/special-buys/special-buys-sat-11-may…

I have this unit from one of their previous sales and it's quite good although the battery life can be a bit short if used where there is a bit of movement. Probably won't be an issue for most traditional use cases (cabinets, wardrobes etc)

    • Bought last year at this price.

Installed in kitchen pantry - with 1m strip mounted vertically.
Opening door illuminates shelves. Lower shelf lacks good light, but it's only used for bulk items.

Unit has different settings for operating time etc.
Just unplug end control to recharge.

      • are these just white light or yellow light etc?

is the main use just for the kitchen pantry etc?

        • White leds. Well suited to inside cupboard where not triggered frequently - requiring more charging.
          Recharge 1/month.

  • anyone know what is the length ?

      From ALDI site:

1m rechargeable and dimmable strip light with 3 modes: on, day and night

    • 1m rechargeable and dimmable strip light with 3 modes: on, day and night

    • 100cm

  • Yes I have an older version from Aldi special buys. It doesn’t have light sensor so it always drains itself out while lighting up during the daytime, when I mainly need it to light up at night just enough to find the light switch.
    Hope this one fixed that.

Timer goes up to 1 minute. Perfect as a night-pee aid.

  • how do you recharge?

    • usb-c

      • can you detach the controller part and charge it separately?

Yes the led strip has a 5521 DC barrel jack

    • Micro USB. Yes it does work fine plugged in permanently. Horrible cold white LEDs but the PIR unit is alright. I replaced the leds with much nicer warm white 5v leds from eBay

      • mine got USB-C

Nice! Must be a new revision of this product

          • @Ezekiel2320: Nice work on the LED mod … it is a little cold.
Mine is plugged in permanently in my WIR and has been flawless for a year.

      • May I ask which warm led did you buy? TYIA.

      how do you recharge?

Usually go to the Gold Coast….

      Why do you ask?

  • Have one from previously. Was the perfect length and width for my 3d printer, Ender 3v2, to fit in the channel in the two uprights and cross bar. Had it on motion sensor mode, with a smart power board set to turn on the USB port at the same time as the socket powering the printer. Now it's in my P1S. Will get another.

The battery life is really bad. If you plan to use the sensor in a high traffic area, it won't last a day.

  • Old versions of these suck. Sensor was reliable and poor battery life. Would highly NOT recommend.

  • Anyone knows when would this be available in WA? Tia

  • Does anyone know how do I change the timer duration?
