Half the bad reviews are people trying to use it for peppercorn lol

      • Product description:

Spices like pepper or coarse salt are perfectly crushed and delicately ground by the sophisticated grinding mechanism.

That's referring to the matching pepper grinder, there's a FAQ on this on Peugeot website.

Can I use my Pepper Mill to grind salt, or my Salt Mill to grind pepper?

You should only use your Pepper Mill to grind peppercorns, and your Salt Mill to grind dry salt.

We ask this as the mechanism in the Pepper Mill differs to the mechanism in the Salt Mill.

The Pepper Mill mechanism is carefully designed to crack the pepper in a way that releases the most flavour from the pepper corns. The technique to grinding dry salt differs.

The salt grinding mechanism is specifically designed for grinding dry salt. Using wet salt or pepper in your Salt Mill can damage the mechanism.

          • @Jasonissm: I wasn't suggesting that it is a pepper grinder. My point is the product description is confusing, so the reviewers are not totally wrong.

    • thanks for that, don't feel so bad missing out now xD

  • I still own a couple of manual mills which I believe I bought from King of Knives in 2009 (one for salt and one for pepper). Manual mills are much slower than electric mills, and my wrists get sore using manual mills when I need to prepare larger amounts of meat for guests when I do BBQ cooks on my gas Weber Genesis or charcoal Kamado Joe. I bought this pair of electric mills from JB HiFi 2-3 years ago, they price matched Amazon for au$11, they’re still working just fine, I have definitely got my $11 worth out of them - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/russell-hobbs-salt-pepper…

    • $35 at Big W if anyone wants to price match.
      $40 currently at Amazon.

    • or get the cheapest of the Kingrinder coffee grinders (K0 or K1) and use that as a pepper grinder when u need large amounts of pepper. I bet its even quicker than the electric grinder and you get very good control over grind size.

Make our weekend.. add pepper at same price. MUCH LOVE. :)

      • no pepper no deal ;)

    • Yea can you do a pepper mill sale too?

    • Need the pepper mill to go with it please :)

  • The salt mill is bad compared to the pepper mill. I have the one that’s on size up. Very small quantity comes out when you grind the salt until I give up and just get a spoon from the kitchen pot.

  • I bought a Peugeot salt and pepper set last year. Ive found it disappointing. Not sure what I was expecting, but it feels like the gridn settings completely slipped.
