      You said it all…Its a Seagate….

      It's a Seagate.. clearly NOT BETTER. ;)

      • I find Seagate offers a wider range than WD. And therefore for me, they are better because WD don't offer what I'm looking for.

For example, if you want a 3.5" 7200 2TB internal HDD, you can get one of those for $89-99 at a PC store.

If you want the WD version, you're looking at paying $169 for a Caviar Black because they don't make 2TB in Blue.

        Green = 5400 RPM, slow
Blue = 7200 RPM, equivalent in class to Seagate (except they don't go over 1TB)
Black = 7200 RPM, faster than Blue but also significantly louder, and more expensive

        They also offer AV-GP 2TB WD20EURS for $139, but it's not 7200.

The MyBook and Elements 2TB drives that I ripped out were 5400RPM. The Seagate I ripped out was 7200RPM.

I've pretty much switched from WD to Seagate now because I don't want to pay $169 for a 2TB 7200RPM drive.

        • You forgot Red.. I've had too many failures with Seagate so when possible I buy WD.

In saying this I have a 1TB Seagate 7200rpm which is working fine.

  • Cheap

  • looks good, been waiting for this. dont want a seagate drive

  • USB 2.0 only

  • If interested in USB 3, Is the 2TB not a better option??

was posted on OZBargain as well, just cannot find the link/

  • Is the case easy to open, so that I can take the hard disk out to use it with my media centre and put another hard disk in.

    • You might aswell buy the hdd without the enclosure for the same price

      • If I don't need to break it to open it up I can re-use it with a smaller drive.

        Anyway not important.

Why are there never any internal drive sales? :(
