Glorious GMMK Pro 75 Barebone Keyboard White Ice $189 Delivered ($0 MEL C&C) @ PC Case Gear

60

This is the barebone edition so you have to buy your own keycaps and switches and assemble.

I haven't been following the custom keyboard scene for a long time so I'm not sure if there are any better options at this price point, but it seems like a solid deal considering everywhere else is selling it for $249.

In my humble, credential-less opinion, the Keychron V1 would be better value for money at this price-range. Another alternative would be the Nuphy Halo 75 or Air 75 depending on your keycap preference.

These keebs are touted as the gold standard in the budget range for a good reason; $129 or $209 respectively for a full-built keyboard with respectable switches and caps, as well as support for QMK/VIA, is pretty solid.

some more Nuphy options are Field75 (no VIA support) and the new aluminum Gem80.

I also haven't been in the keyboard game for awhile so I don't keep an eye on prices but don't think Nuphy prices are considered great value so worth waiting for a sale.

In that price range I'd suggest the Monsgeek M1 at $169 @ PCCG. It's more modern and still has a nice machined aluminium case. The Keychron V1 is plastic and the more expensive Q1 is the comparable model.

GMMK Pro and Keychron Q1 have nostalgia value as the OG entry level moddable mechanical keyboards but the hobby has moved a long way since then.

  • the gmmk pro on it's own isn't great, much so they released an upgrade kit to allow for more flex in the board. There are far better options right now for the exploded 75%, aluminium gasket design.

  • I think next to the Monsgeek for less the GMMK Pro doesn't look like good value.

I remember being on r/MK early covid and this was the most popular keyboard and was in nearly every post. tech moves fast so yeah GMMK Pro is considered very very old. also they had a few common QC issues, but from what I remember a post said they made some changes and "fixed" them. not sure if it's a V2 version since officially they don't say, but hopefully they fixed those quality issues.

  • love my Rainy75

    • hey that looks like a decent new aliexpress option. looks like all alu with metal weight and wireless + via support?
I'm seeing $169 probably less with coupons.

they didn't have anything like that 1-2 years ago.

    • Hahahah cannot believe I found another keyboard fan that owns a Rainy 75 here. 🤝

  • Just got my Rainy75, one that costs $80 (in China's Taobao, not aliexpress) and gives you a full CNC aluminum case, tri-mode connection and full vial support.

    And it's super heavy, ~2kg

    Love it!

    • Do you have a link to it on taobao? Interested to take a look. Is that 80$ AUD including shipping, taxes and everything?

      • Nope…a few weeks ago I ordered one from Taobao and delivered it to my friend's China address, and he came to Sydney for a visit lately so I got it.

I believe the shipping of Taobao from China to Australia would be very costly, sadly.

        • yeah I was going to say I don't thin taobao ships outside china. so you either had a friend bring/post it or used a proxy service.
