Got an email a week or so ago with the discount code PANA50 for always on sale. Bought a tough camera for a bargain price. Delivery was pretty good too, got delivered within the week.

It still seemed to work yesterday when i bought a rice cooker so i thought i might share it.

Panasonic 10 cup rice cooker is a really good price after applying coupon - $81 delivered.

      • looks like the one you've linked to has a smaller capacity - 5 cups rice. For some reason it's more expensive on alwaysonsale.com.au.

Edit: I don't have experience with these rice cookers, but the specs are here:

Would a small cooker be more economical too cook only 1 or 2 cups or uncooked rice? Or the size of the cooker makes no difference?

It appears that these two are the DE models. There is a similar MS model for each, that comes with non-stick high-absorbtion pan, but not found on alwaysonsale.com.au.

"The high-heat absorption pan is finished with Binchotan Black Fluorine, a traditional Japanese charcoal surface that enhances both the heating power and efficiency."

        • Always on sale describes the DE model has having the "Binchotan Black Fluorine". I wonder if it really has or if it was a cut and paste error?

I've just found more information on Panasonic site. MS series has:
          - detachable inner lid for greater convenience.
          - unique diamond fluoro coated pan for evenly cooked food and long lasting durability. This coating generates larger steam bubbles to ensure that rice does not stick to the pan.

I'm still struggling to find the product manual online.

The official Panasonic site says this for the SR-DE183WST as well as SR-DE103

The non-stick pan is made with Black-Infrared Fluorine which enhances the heating and power efficiency.

I realised that rice cookers like these (as compared to the more conventional types) take a long time to cook. I've read on Google that it took 50 minutes for white rice one of the reviewer. Apparently it's 2 hours for brown rice. Probably not an issue if you are organised and used the timer but I can't imagine waiting that long if I hadn't done any preparation.

  • Other then a rice cooker, nothing is really worth while

    I.e.

Always on sale, yet I see a few things with the RRP the same as their price lol

    • You take 50 bucks off rrp with the code. I still see that as a saving :-)

    • Glad i could help :-)

  • To save you the trouble, only valid for these products:

  • Was looking for panasonic blu-ray. With their 50 off code it went down to $159 delivered. JB-Hi sells it for $159. No deal here.

  • Is it okay to buy from them?

Just read some bad experiences about the site.

    • Incidentally I bought a Sunbeam rice cooker from them a while back. Took ages to arrive (approx 1 month) but no issues with the quality of the product. Box was a little worn/dirty, that's all. To be fair, they did notify me of the delay when I checked in with them, saying that they ran out of stock.
