The selling point of the Bambino Plus is the instant heating time + auto milk frothing, competing with the Gaggia Classic Pro. They're both well regarded by coffee snobs and I'd recommend this combination if your budget is ~$1000. For $500 more, the Dual Boiler is a huge upgrade, best value for money tier.
I've had been eyeing it to go with an Option-O Lagom Mini for my short term rental but decided single dosing is probably a bit too much work for our guests.
UItimately I ended up getting a Sunbeam Origins for about $580 which has lots of upgrades over the Barista Express a tiny bit more money.
I have a Sanremo You and Option-O P100 at home. Honestly day to day, even outside of the finances, I wish I still had the Dual Boiler.

It’s a terrible machine. I had it for less than a year and got so frustrated with it that I sold it on Facebook and bought the Breville barista pro
Curious to your issues with it? I have had this same model since Christmas and it's been pretty good. I don't have much to compare it to though!
I could only pull a shot 50% of the time. It just couldn’t get the pressure.
Steam wand was also terrible. I found it made the milk really watery.
Note I had a Breville barista express before it died and I made the mistake of buying the delonghi
Had it even longer than you and it works great for us too.
I have this from the last big black Friday sale for $389.40 and its a good machine. Makes a good coffee each time, needed to play with the grind levels a bit to get the pressure right.
