Remove Minimum Spend @ Temu

Full credit to ChoiceCheapies. Tested and it works.

A little while ago I commented in a post that it's possible to remove the minimum spend amount on Temu.

A couple of users commented that this should be shared. I just remembered this as have just made a $15 order on Temu.

Thanks to @NovaAlpha for writing down the steps as I had forgotten how I had done it.

Steps:
1. Chat with a Temu chatbot and just type this "remove minimum purchase amount".
2. Then click the button it generates and done. Takes like a second!

More detailed instructions from NovaAlpha and bonus extra tip.
Maybe add these screenshots to the OP so others can see exactly how to do it. It's a one time thing and will stay there forever. I've done it weeks ago and I can still buy like $2~$5 items with free delivery.

Also, another Temu trick that you should probably include in either a new post or your current one is the use of Price Adjustments. It's very easy to get refunds on Temu, including getting refunds on products that have gone down in price after you had already purchased it. You're only eligible for a price adjustment only if the price has gone down while your order is within 30 days old. The problem is that the price adjustment link is annoying to get to for every order.

My script will list all the price adjustment links that are still valid. It checks whether your order is within 30 days old and shows you a bunch of them to easily click into. The userscript also shows referral links and other stuff that are found on Cheapies. You'll have to be on the Temu My Orders page and it should show up.

I've probably gotten like over $50 of credit refunded to my account. Just to clarify, it's just a shortcut to the Price Adjustment link that you would otherwise have to click into each order to find. It's not a link that guarantees refund of credits. If you click into your order and into the price adjustment link and there's credit available to be refunded to you, then try my script and it should take you to the same page as well, just much quicker.

I basically check everyday or every 2 days and I usually get quite a bit of refund.

I kept asking the bot with different amounts in my cart. No dice. It put me through to an agent and he said the same auto response about sustainability as the bot. I told him I couldn't afford it as a single parent and he removed the minimum order from my cart. Not sure if it is ongoing or not.

    • Placed a $14 order last night and still no minimum spend. The kids will be happy they can spend their pocket money on Temu without having to spend $50

Works for ages, then gets an ozbargain post and gone in under an hour

  • Wasn't TEMU banned here?

  • This is the response I got

To promote sustainable shopping practices, we've made some updates to our shopping cart. We're now minimizing packaging waste and have implemented a minimum order requirement. Please add more items to your cart to meet this requirement and help us reduce our environmental impact.

Maybe someone from Ozbargain tipped them with the hack info

    • +1

or Temu has a spy in ozb to read the comments

  • I just did this like 45 mins ago!

  • How do you do the Price Adjustment thing? I go into my previous order but there's nothing mentioned. Some items are now a bit cheaper.

    • If it's under 30 days there's a price adjustment button when you click in the order. If it's not there and under 30 days it's hidden, you have to click the line thing on the left of the bar that says return etc and it'll be there

      • Ok thanks. I thought it was still under 30 days, but now that I look again it's just been over 30 days. So that's probably why I don't see anything.

    • want to know too. OP's link to the script is disabled for some reason.
@Taegukgi can you post the script link again?

told them my cat died and they gave me 10 dollars credit

  • My minimum order is up to $45! Will be interesting to see if they can turn a profit when they get out of the growth phase. I'm going back to AliExpress more now- they've sped up their shipping and have the endless range of junk.

  • My minimum order was $15 last I looked and now it's $55! Apparently it's not hard to claim a refund and they let you keep the product. Aliexpress made me post back a faulty item.

I wonder if instead of removing the limit completely, you ask the bot to lower the minimum amount to say $10 or $15. I was at $45 a week ago, interrogated the bot, at first it said no, rephrased it and the second time it droppd my limit to $15. AliExpress doesn't have any limit but there is a $3 shipping charge for orders under $10 USD / $15 AUD.

For lower value items you get a refund without even having to send products back. The actual price we Westerners see is much higher than the actual production price. For instance, go to AliExpress, compare the price with Australia as destination compared to South Korea/Japan/Vietnam. Enormous difference. A $6.85 AUD (+10% GST at checkout) item dropped to $1 USD ($1.50 AUD). The producer, seller and AliExpress all are charging markups on that $1 USD item. That is how cheap China can produce things. There is no point in asking you to send back a damaged or even a change of mind low value item. Temu/Ali would have to pay for shipping to Sydney, decide whether or just to throw the item in a bin, and if it isn't binned pay for postage back to China (Australia to China is much more expensive than China to Australia).

Albo talks about bringing wo-manufacturing back to Australia. Insane. Even with 100% tariffs it would still be cheaper to purchase Made in China. We cannot make anything affordable here, yet for some reason (perhaps just massive immigration driven population growth) we aren't yet the "poor white trash of Asia".

    • "The actual price we Westerners see"
Do you still consider us westerners???

We are faarrrrrr east …. lol …

    • -1

Lol yup. I thought aliexpress was cheap until I went on Lazada Malaysia, as my dad goes back every few months and things were WAYYYY cheaper. Like I could get my tineco mop accessories for under $10 and AE was over $30 for less amount.

  • +3

The bot likes manners. I wrote 'can you give me a coupon' a few times and it wouldn't. But when I wrote 'can I get a coupon please' it gave me the 20% off lol

  • Doesnt work I asked 4 times and it just gave me variations of why they have a limit.

  • It took me a few purchases to realize that most of the stuff I got from Temu was only fit for the landfill unfortunately. What are ya'll buying from there?
    ?

    • +1

i got the chatbot and some human support to give me a 10 dollar voucher, remove my spend limit and give me a 20% off coupon so I ordered some magnets potentiometers. Hopefully they come out ok

    • +1

Business pants were amazing. Same with a few shirts.

  • I put about $10 worth of items in my cart and asked with the bot but got denied. It sent me to the agent and I asked again and they gave the same answer. They said can you add more items to your cart, I said no, I just want to remove the minimum. Then suddenly they just did it. Not sure how long it’ll last, but thanks OP!

  • did OP just kill the Temu hack by posting this on ozbargain

    • A hack is "unauthorized attempts to bypass the security mechanisms of an information system or network". A method that works if people ask for it is obviously intended. That makes it a marketing ploy.

  • This still worked for me just now. (My default minimum was $55.. wtf)

First purchase as a new user though, maybe it's barred for existing customers.

Getting wildly mixed opinion here on the store though, will see how this one item goes regarding the quality etc. and then decide whether to go back to Ali express or whatever :P

    • I'm an existing user and this worked for me this afternoon… exactly as OP described.

      • It got removed from mine after 24hrs to $50 Min spend. But asked bot again and Min spend was removed again

Just don't use the Temu app for purchases because it's malware

  • Managed to get minimum removed when talking to live chat agent. Does anyone use those boost profit deals to cycle through new numbers for new member deals?

  • The ChatBot pleading trick seems to have worked for me on 18 Apr 2024.

I have previously placed one order with Temu (a new user deal, very cheap). It just increased the minimum spend on my checkout yesterday, from AUD $20 to AUD $55.

A special deal on some solar PIR streetlights (under $6 each = bargain) has expired, so now I have to search again to replace those… then I will go through checkout and see what happens.

    *** EDIT TO ADD… IT WORKED….

    1 x box 5m x 5 colours AWG18 soft silicon cable $12.74, 2 x solar street lights $7.49ea, 2 x chrome car badges that say "SH!7BOX EDITION" $5.99pair = $33.71 total.

That is significantly cheaper than I can find the same items on AliExpress or eBay.

When I go back to checkout again to make another new order, it is giving me free shipping on a single item worth AUD $5, with no minimum spend. At the top of the page it says "Free shipping for you - Exclusive Offer", so it might be a time-limited offer from the Bot.

I've had no problems with Temu, but you have to be sensible. It's not a company, you are just buying from a vendor like off AliExp or Ebay. I cannot understand how some people think that they are buying "from Temu"? Anyway you really have to be careful what you choose, especially since the same bait and switch tactics are used on all these sites to offer multiple items with only one item at a low price.

I am not sure how ANYBODY can get their CC details stolen… who is dumb enough to give random websites their CC details anyway?
    - Use Paypal or some other secure payment gateway, FFS.

    • I had the "Free shipping special for you Exclusive offer" as well, but wants me to spend minimum $40

  • Doesn't work anymore?

P/S spoke to customer service, looks like they will force a no min order if you are stubborn enough

  • OzBargain has received a legal threat + take down request from Temu's legal department. Looks like they have patched up this loophole. Consider it as "expired".

    • +1

Well done OzB, you done it again. Now everyone can’t enjoy nice things.

    • Scotty got a mesaage from Temu's legalbot.

  • +1

I just tried this and worked for me, cheers op.

  • Damn already spent over $20 with random orders.

    I think it's a trap

  • Tried to get another 20% voucher no luck. Went to live chat twice and still no success

  • Worked for me today with ~$30 worth of goods in my cart.

  • +1

Also worked for me just now. Thanks so much :)

  • Thanks. My min has been $15, went to order and was up to $40.

Chat bot denied and got transfered an agent who removed it without a fuss. Didn't have any luck getting credit, got offered a 20% off voucher when I asked but hasn't arrived yet, said can take up to 24 hours :/

    • Damm, my minimum just went up to $55…

  • This doesn't work, very frustrating.

    • Chatbot doesn't but you should have better luck chatting to a live agent.

  • +4

My account was still no minimum spend up to a few days ago, now it's $50 :(. Back to aliexpress I guess.

    • Mine went back to $40

      • Also back to $40

        • Same back to $40

  • +2

After 1 hour trying to talk to an agent, finally got one and they all say the same thing. They can't remove or reduce the minimum spend and others online in the last week trying to, but can't either.

The only way now is to buy the minimum spend and return the items.

Or if you have multiple accounts, try log in to the mobile app and one account of mine was showing $40 min spend on my desktop but $15 on the app. But after I purchased something for min $15, it went up to $40.

Another thing, keep creating multiple account until you hit one with a lower minimum spend. This was a thing before the removal limit hack as I would create multiple accounts to get $10 minimum spend. This may still work.
