[Refurb] Dynabook Portege X30W-J i5 1135G7 8GB 256GB Win 11 $339 Delivered @ Australian Computer Traders

170
DYNA60

Howdy

Got something a little different here. Pretty nice units with under 1kg and still 2 in 1

Intel i5 1135G7
8Gb Ram
256Gb SSD
FHD
Win 11
12 Month Warranty.

These units fall under our B Grade Condition. The specific issue with these is that batteries are around 70% and the antiglare screen has a slight keyboard impression on the matt. If you are keen, you can pull the antiglare off, but it's technically part of the factory screen. Pen's are not included.

Any chance of a sample photos to get indication of condition? These "refurbs" from various companies seem to vary a lot with condition. Thanks.

    • +9

Yeah I could do that in this instance, give me 10

      • Thank you :) Appreciate this takes time which may not be worth your while but it certainly helps get an idea. Thanks.

All G, I've added some sample photos, Including one of the keyboard marks. Please note this is a sample unit that I just grabbed, all of the stock is prepacked now. Also worth of note, you can't see those marks when the screen is on, it also doesn't affect the touch. It's a very common issue among most products.

          • @Calmago: To remove the anti glare layer- Is it like peeling off a screen protector or is it more involved than that?

            • +1

@OldSchoolHarry: Pretty much, but it takes a fair bit of effort.

          • +1

@Calmago: these marks can be cleaned by alcohol wipes. I used to have a laptop with the same problem, I just used an alcohol wipe to wipe out all the coating and screen looked brand new.

            • +2

@rainy118: if it's oil, yes however if it's friction from keys causing physical deterioration then alcohol wipes won't do it

          • @Calmago: Thanks - have ordered one.

            • @ritzaus: @ritzaus how the laptop? Ram and battery are good enough?

              • @CyberMurning: It's going well for my needs. Battery is about 70-80% capacity I think..I'll need to double check. Performance is good for my needs as well. Basic office work, bit of browsing and media/streaming. Screen does have a pretty bad imprint/outline but it doesn't show when in use so have accepted it for the price.

          • @Calmago: Can U confirm if there is the addiontsl sodium slot or ram is upgradable ?

  • is the ram upgradable?

"Products may have a faulty USB Port or ethernet port (laptop only). This does not affect the usability and performance of the device."

Weird description: a few things are broken BUT it does NOT affect usability? (What if I need to connect a mouse or LAN cable?…that definitely affect usability)

  • +3

love that it has a HDMI port built in, so good

  • -3

Hi rep. Can you make it $299 so we can claim it on tax

    • +5

Imagine they are making $40 a unit. You just asked them to sell at cost so that YOU can save on tax.

      • Well they can change to $299 + $40 shipping
        Shipping is not tax deductable

        • -1

Pretty sure it’s not legal to do this. To build your profit margins into the shipping cost.

          • @ASR-Briggs: Why isnt it legal? Now you are making your own rules?. For example, some shops charge $15 to $20 shipping when the contract they have with AP or courier company is much less than that.

Shipping costs include handling aka packaging, bubble wrap, labor costs of packing, costs related to transporting items to post office or depot, etc

            • -2

@easternculture: Our country has very strict rules around advertising, and especially pricing in advertising. This applies to any industry. Let’s say you deliberately underquote a job in order to win the business, knowing that you intend to make the money back via “supplemental” costs. Doing what you are suggesting is essentially the same. You’re lowering the base cost (and probably artificially pushing yourself up the search results in the process). Is the ACCC going to go after a refurbished laptop seller for bait and switch advertising? Probably not. But why the F would they take that risk so that YOU can save money on your taxes?

              • -2

@ASR-Briggs: Dont see how this applies to shipping and handing costs. I dont think $40 is unreasonable knowing that ive seen a company charge $169 to deliver a tv when another online shop charges $65 for same tv to same address.

Plus ive posted laptops ive sold via australia post and ive paid up to $32 on some and ive recieved laptops ive bought on ebay with postage labels of $30+ postage costs.

Here the company is including shipping in total cost and id prefer to have shipping quoted seperatly so i can get a tax benefit. Which im sure will cost close to $40 (shipping $25 to $30, box $3, bubble wrap $5, labour $5)

                • +2

@easternculture: But it’s not just the shipping and handling costs you’re talking about. You’re talking about artificially lowering the base price of the unit, intending to make the money back on shipping. I’m sure it can be argued that that is a deceptive practice. Well, it doesn’t even need to be argued, it is deceptive. But the arrogance and entitlement that is the most astounding part. “Why does this company not change their entire pricing structure to suit my individual use case?”

You’re talking about artificially lowering the base price of the unit, intending to make the money back on shipping

They wont be making money on shipping.

These are just modest prices based on me posting over 100+ parcels a year

Which im sure will cost close to $40 (shipping $25 to $30, box $3, bubble wrap $5, labour $5)

Im asking to seperate unit price from shipping to achieve a tax benefit which is completely legal and reasonable

                    • @easternculture: And that might not be possible. You have no idea what deal they have in place for shipping with eBay and/or their shipping provider. Asking for the shipping to be separated from the unit price is reasonable IMO. But what if it’s $10-$15? It’s still not going to suit your use case and you’re still going to be unhappy. You want to dictate TO THEM what they should be charging for shipping and how. The world just doesn’t work like that….

@ASR-Briggs: He just asked a question, seller can say no themselves if it's not good for them..

      For a 11th Gen?

    • +5

this is i5 11th gen, i don't think you can get anything like this below $300. there are heaps of i5 8th gen around $200-$300 mark

  • 2 x USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 2 - Thunderbolt™ 4 port which supports data transfer, power delivery and display port , 1x USB 3.1 (Sleep & Charge), HDMI-out (supporting 4k2k/1080p signal format), headphone/microphone combo, microSD Card reader

Given there are two Thunderbolt ports and one HDMI port, can I connect three external monitors to this to make it a 4-display setup, all showing different things at the same time?

Could OP arrange this code to work with the 16gb b grade version? That would be worth it for my needs.

    • @Calmago Would love to get the 16G ram version as well if this code can be applied.

  • Hi @Calmago I was trying to purchase but there is an error message applying the DYNA60 discount. Has the deal expired? thanks.

    • Looks good to me, do you want to try again.

      • Hi, also getting an error: "Special Discount 'Dynabook Sale' from Australian Computer Traders (dyna60) only applies to specific products. Your order will be processed without this discount"

        Is this code still valid?

        • Working now. Not to sure what went wrong there.

          • @Calmago: Thank you, code worked but then it still charged me full price when it went through for payment. Can I send you the order # for assistance please?

  • code doesn't seem to be working anymore, says that it doesn't apply to this product

  • any confirmation of ram upgrade?

    https://www.notebookcheck.net/Dynabook-Portege-X30W-J-10K-la…

    • Did you bought one? Review please? 8gb ram is enough for multiple tabs of chromes?

    • @AzK

  • Not these days I had 5 tabs open and it was using 11GB/16. Unless you only use YouTube and maybe 1 other website I find it laggy

    • Hmm this is 8gb do you have the 16gb model maybe.?

      • I've got 20+ tabs open in Chrome as well as about 5 in Firefox and it's not laggy for me?

        • Wow i dont need 20 chromes just 10 and will happy with 8gb is actually can handle. Maybe dont install too many extensions?
