  • Will this help me do gardening at night?

    • +31

It’ll help provide light but not your gardening skills.

        Ouch lol

Better off with a battery powered one then imo

Portable, as far as your extension cord goes…

Another option if you want portable without cables is this.
Got one on sale around 16 bucks but even at normal price $27 it's not bad. Very bright, but haven't used it long enough in one stretch to tell you how long the battery lasts. Can charge while using it though.

    Cord and plug? Portable?

    What is this, the 80s?

  • This 20W is also another option. Seem like it is more compact or cleaner in design. Not sure. FYI

I insulated the entire roof cavity just using this light. It's super bright and did a great job. The handle has long since broken off. But the stand is still going great. I've had it for about a year now.

"I insulated the entire roof cavity just using this light. "

Most people use insulation batts but I guess YMMV.

This Bunnings deal might be in response to an Aldi battery powered work light. Link: https://www.aldi.com.au/special-buys/special-buys-sat-13-apr…

    Unsure what’s the better deal…

    • Usually it's ozito that matches the Aldi prices.
The Aldi one is battery powered, but a little lower in stated lumens

  • Had one of these and it gets hot AF after a few mins

    • I know the old halogen lights used to really HEAT UP. The bulbs also blew pretty often too. I'm sure these are much cooler and energy efficient.

  • Does ozito have a version with battery?

  • Such good value conpared to halogen ones in the old days. Sometimes i think we need to take a step back and realise we're living in the best times.

The 500w halogen worklights are still cheaper and brighter than this.

And needs a nuclear powerplant to run

      • +3

And can double up as a heater in the winter months.

      • For sure, just pointing out that both products have their pros and cons, and we're not at the stage to be writing the halogens off yet.

  • If you take a video with these lights, do you see flicker?

    • If it's anything like the dual LED light on tripod (linked in OP), yes. I have the dual tripod light and noticed flicker while recording on my phone. (not sure how many FPS I was recording at if that contributes to flicker)

  • This is good, but I noticed mine has started to chip/flake on the yellow outer painted metal frame (?). It's a painted metal that has bubbles in part of the paintwork, which is how it would be vulnerable to chipping/flaking. Will probably take it back to Bunnings to swap for another, as I assume it will be prone to rusting in the flaked out bits.
