6 pro had its own issues of call quality, heating etc. So may be worth an upgrade. But if you have 7 Pro, then probably you can stick to it.
As someone who has both, yes. Better camera, flat screen, face unlock … and it comes in blue
Got a link for that price? I can't see it in the app
https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/mobiles-on-a-plan/g…
It was is $649 on that link for a while when I made that comment but it's gone up to $1299 now 😂. Could possibly be a mistake, maybe try asking them.
Reebelo also has 'premium' refurbished Pixel 6 Pro 512GB for $769 and 256GB for $558.
Any deal combos I can use to pick this up, price match somewhere else with voucher offers or something? Coming from an old as OPPO A91 so keen for something new

Price match at google store and use student beans 10% off?
Pixel 8 pro or S24 ultra?
What do you use your phone for?
512GB S24 Ultra from Samsung Edu store in ~$1,400 would be better choice:
That's with trade in. The pixel is without.
The S24 Ultra is an overall better phone. But the Pixel is a very good phone too. So it's hard to pick one.
This price is with trade in bonus only. Any trade in value of your phone will further reduce the price. Plus if you like you don’t send the device and take up $60 device non-return fee and sell yours on FB for better price than trade in value.
@OZBsince2018: Are there really no other repercussion than a $60 fee? Surely at some point this will start being a mark on your credit history 😕
@nzcoops: I am sure this won’t have any effect on credit history. They charge the full trade in value of your device to your card when you do the trade in. And not sending the device isn’t any default and they charge you the fee as per T’s and C’s.
I have done this for almost 4-5 times now and haven’t had any issue.
@OZBsince2018: Yeh that's true but you'll have to find a device you're willing to part ways with or find something that is cheap on the list of eligible devices and not send it. Still a bit of a headache.
@itsmoe: Simply select Galaxy Watch and put anything in serial number. This will give you $5 trade in value if I remember correctly. So no need to find any device
@OZBsince2018: Oh that's not bad if that's the case.
Having used both Pixel and Samsung "Ultra" phones over the past few generations extensively (I usually upgrade phones yearly), I find that Samsung phones are much more refined.
They tend to have better hardware, more stable software, and more refined features. The Pixel phones are always nice and I do like the stock Android experience (though Samsung phones today are quite close to stock Android already), but the issue with the Pixels are that their hardware always seems a little subpar (for what they are asking), and they are full of half-baked features which are of questionable value.
With the Samsung phones, I've always found them to be a consistent experience from launch, whereas with Pixel, it's always a bit like being a beta tester until some of the issues get ironed out over time (e.g. see MKBHD talk about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS8x2TicxQ8). My sense is that it's a two-fold issue, that Google uses the Pixel as a testing ground for some more adventurous features in Android, and that the Pixel just does not sell well enough to justify the polish that Samsung phones get. I would genuinely be extremely surprised if the entire Pixel range of phones is even profitable for Google.
That's not to say that there aren't things the Pixel does better, but you would have to really want those (admittedly quite niche) features to pick the Pixel IMO.
Good outlook for sure. The pixel is way ahead of the Samsung in the camera department. So if you have kids or pets and want to keep quality photos of them, the pixel is the way to go. Samsung is decent, but the Pixel is just better.
Which Pixel are you comparing to which Samsung?
I've compared the Pixel 7 Pro to S23U directly and I've found differences to be marginally in favour of the Pixel - it's better, but not "way ahead".
I agree. Samsung phones and software is more refined and has less bugs and issues compared to Pixel phones
How about ED&D, engineering, CAPEX, freight, overhead, SGA, etc etc
You are talking about raw material costs only.Speaking from automotive industry

Ah, finally at their true rrp.
Pixel + GrapheneOS over Android is the best combination to have a decent phone without bloat ware and crappy, and privacy focused.
I've 7 Pro running GrapheneOS and looking forward for Pixel Fold to reach Australia, probably version 2 since the current version isn't coming to Australia, then I'll upgrade mine.
How do we install GrapheneOS?
what a L33T price
Hmm is this really worth almost double the price of a 6 Pro which is $649 at Telstra?
