making a goal of mine to warn people of these guys.
cheap comes at a chance of them not honouring what you pay for with no chance of refund and a potential monthly wait which may be canceled.
enjoy.I can only go on my experience too. I have bought frequently from them with no problems. Their new release CDs are particularly good buys.
The Australian site now charges $2 (per item) shipping I think. There might be a few exceptions - I'm not sure. But none of the other country versions of the site charge shipping. And often, the prices end up being cheaper from random countries. I bought a cd (don't judge, finishing off a collection!) off the Swedish site, and saved $7 all up (incl. the $2 shipping) and it took the same amount of time to get here as when I've purchased from the Oz one in the past.
Do they all ship from the same place? From what I could tell, the different country sites had identical stock.
You're definitely better off buying from one of their other sites rather than .com.au now that the Aussie site charges for postage. Their USA site .us usually has CDs cheaper than the Aussie site. I've bought many CDs through them, always paying for postal insurance (approx 99c per order). I had one CD not arrive a few years ago & they reposted it to me without any fuss. I have had a few CDs cancelled after ordering them, but that doesn't happen much. They take a few weeks to deliver, but so does TheHut & Zavvi etc. I've been using them for many years now, including this week, and plan to in the future.
buyer beware site.they send you any version of what you ordered regardless of written description.
I appreciate others may have had bad experiences with WOWHD (was CDWOW) regarding this. Of the many, many CDs I've purchased from them over the years I have never received a different version than what I ordered which includes many limited editions etc.
Terrible customer service, took 2 months for my order to arrive after they claimed that the first order got lost in transit.
Then they said my order was shipped, waited over a week and emailed them, they tell me that they were out of stock.
Email ping pong and my order arrives 2 months later.i purchased dozens of cds - approx 20% of them received were different from what was ordered in good faith. Customer service was poor dealing with the same recurrent issue - and i have it in writing from this crew, that they simply supply whatever version they get in stock, although the cheapest version is always the way they go -its never an upgrade. The idea that you will always get what you purchased from this outfit is wrong - pure and simple, and why anyone who is not connected with any company argues with someone else who shares their experiences in this forum in such a manner is beyond me except that they have an axe to grind about something else. Buyer beware company a bit better than Fishpond - fact, and there are still Fishpond posters here as well so go figure.
Hey, I'm not arguing. I'm just sharing that my experience has been fine. I've bought approx 120 CDs from them over the years, about 10% are limited editions with bonus tracks or bonus discs etc, and I've never not received what I've ordered. I do pay the extra $1 per order for insurance. Perhaps that makes a big difference. I assume then it must.
bizarre thought - but hey you wanna justify yourself ramble on - especially since transit insurance was previously 50c…..
