Interesting way to get to North America from Perth in some very nice business class seats.
Business Class: Perth - Hong Kong - Tokyo - Vancouver - Tokyo - Singapore - Perth $6376 (JAL & CP & Qantas) @ Google Flights

Just out of interest, which LCCs fly (direct or indirect) to YVR?
That would make more sense if there was a quick direct way…
I think the sarcastic point was that none do. If you try thr LCC option, you'd likely face equally long travel lengths if not longer as you'd need to go PER - SIN - NRT - YVR/SJC/SFO
Given the only LCC (I'm not even sure they can be really called LCC) doing Transpacific currently is Zipair and they have very few departure timings, you're probably not going to be any faster.
Each to their own. Personally a cheap direct flight would likely leave me in agony and barely able to walk for a few days at least. Would rather find a longer but affordable business route, the nightmares of being tall. That being said I usually manage to do all my international flights in Business with Qantas points.
How is flying over the Pacific an "interesting" way to get to North America?
how about from sydney
If you're a QF Platinum FF, this would also net you about 25k FF points and 640 status credits. Not bad…
10 AUD per SC isn't too shabby.
Great route to take advantage of the new Article 23.
transit only. no treason required.
Trivia - there is a Vancouver in the US of A, a little over 300 miles from Vancouver in Canada. No doubt some people have ended up travelling to the wrong destination.
(Far worse though to mix up Melbourne in Florida or Sydney in Nova Scotia.)
Or Americans ending up in Austra thinking it's Australia
I'm sure that's never happened bef… Parcel mistakenly delivered to Austria instead of Australia five times
Great fare for those who can afford!
This is standard price for JAL.
Have been monitoring for several months and finally pulled trigger on Perth-Hong Kong-Tokyo-Los Angeles-Tokyo-Singapore-Perth later in the year in business for similar price. Hasn't changed in probably 6 months.
Not the ideal routing to get to the US, but an opportunity to spend a few days in each of the cities along the way.
this sounds like an amazing deal!
