  • Do I need to sign up for temu through shopback or am I ok signing up using a referral link then make a first purchase using shopback? Anyone feedback is appreciated.

    • +4

      don’t buy from temu

      • Just use Aliexpress… Similar pricing, same products.

        • +1

but not the same delivery speed. btw I too prefer AE but when you need things in a pinch Temu is better (of course you need to hit $30 so you spend more on unwanted crap)

      • Why not?

I have a St George credit card; is that all o need or how do I join these challenges?

    • Yep

      • Do you need to pay using the st George card? Or is it enough to add it to your CB acct?

        • Same as westpac. Pay with registered card fpr bonus to track properly

          • @easternculture: haven't used WPC. is it fine to pay most on GC then rest on STG card as less as $1 or $5 (any min amount)?

  • Link?

  • Mine seems to also have a challenge for $5 bonus with $75 spend on gift cards as well. Now to find where I put my St George debit card…

eBay 10%/$20 - any stack code?

  • +1

How secure is this? - need to input my cc number, expiry, CVV….
And I read somewhere that they've already had a data breach.

    • +1

I believe you've answered your own question.
I consider it inevitable so don't keep $ in my linked accounts, I write them off as already breached.

      • -1

Tbh writing someone off as already breached is absolutely idiotic. They've already got 95%+ of their user information and are now facing tougher encryption - so why would they bother again in a short time frame? Makes no sense.

        • Places get hacked repeatedly. Look at LastPass.

          • @Wolfenstein98k: LastPass is literally a group of everyone's passwords - with one password to gain access - and the breaches were 7 years apart meaning there are a lot of new passwords that happen in that time.

It also doesn't help that LastPass didn't actually do anything to protect its users and instead blamed them for not having a secure enough password, and blatantly misleading customers about their zero-knowledge architecture.

Allow me to rephrase: if a company actually learns and enhances security and encryption, it is unlikely they will get breached again in a short time frame.

It's like leaving your front door open after getting robbed and wondering why it keeps happening.

            • @pennypincher98: I agree, if the company does the wrong thing they're more likely to be hacked again.

So your heuristic of trusting a company because they've been hacked seems to increase risk, not decrease it.

Remember - most people don't have the time or skills to investigate cybersecurity.

              • @Wolfenstein98k: Yeah main point I was making was if you've been robbed and instead of now just closing a door you now lock it, install security camera and alarm you'll find you they probably won't bother any more. Same thing with cybersecurity and breaches.

Looking at a company's response to a breach is arguably more important than the breach itself, as no company is immune and basically everyone at some point will have attempted unauthorised access.

I don't want people to be lulled into a false sense of security because of (for eg) the marketing BS Telstra pulled after the Optus breach.

                • @pennypincher98: Sure, but most people won't do that research.

Also competitors probably gear up after they see someone get hacked, and see how costly it was.

    • wanna do it safe, get a debit card just for this and top up only with the amount you need to purchase. I know a bit of a hassle but a true ozbargainer wouldn't mind it.

I do this with 2 WBC debit cards already.

  • Can you buy on temu website? I thought you had to use their app? How does cashback work then? Might be a silly question, have never gotten further than their popups but Google search definitely getting a kickback because it's all that come up when I'm looking for a product now

@gotyourback need some more information about this new St. George lounge.

Stackable with use of gift cards on eBay/Amazon?
Minimum spend on the St.George card required?

I.e. is it treated the same as the Westpac lounge?

    TYTY

    • Hey there! Sorry for the delay.

Our St.Geroge Campaign is similar to the Westpac Lounge. Here's how to score that bonus Cashback:

      1. Link a personal St.George debit/credit card (not business card)
      2. Empty your cart before clicking through ShopBack
      3. Click through ShopBack and shop at valid stores
      4. Don't click on other promotions or websites during your shopping trip.
      5. Follow the merchant's terms and conditions.
      6. Pay with your linked St.George card (debit/credit,SamsungPay, GooglePay, ApplePay)
      7. Once your store Cashback tracks, your St.George bonus will too!

Important: Don't unlink your St.George card until both Cashbacks confirm.

      • Here is a tricky question: What if my card is expiring this month and I have to switch to the new card (same card number) from next month with some unconfirmed STG bonuses in the account? There has to be an unlink and link process to continue using the card as there seems no "update card" option.

Hey there! Could you shoot us a DM with your account details for us to assist on this further?

  • Just bought something at Priceline and only tracked 2% normal CB. How do I contact them for correction? Or it would be automatically adjusted after certain period?

    • A secondary transaction for the extra cashback should come after.

      • Oh, thanks legend. Let see if it comes.

  • how to track as [STG]? do I need to pay by STG card with ebay buy?

    • yes, add the card with SB then use the same card for purchase directly using the card. Paypal/Afterpay etc. won't work
