Imagine a world without China, India, Africa… you'd be naked, probably without a keyboard to type on, and hey, you might not even exist! LOL!

Try American One a day tablets. Much better than au multivitamins.

    • +5

American industry for supplements are not regulated. So just be mindful. Partly the reason Aussie brands are so expensive (oh and their greed).

Those interested in getting more D might want to complement this with some K. So..enjoy the D..K.

One time I bought some vitamins that were "independent/3rd party tested" and the address on the testing certificate was a dog grooming business.

        • -3

Hmm…..what's your point? Did your dog feel better after taking them? I hope you don't mean you ate the dog vitamins yourself. (But if you did. How did they taste? Did they make you better?)

K2 mk7 or mk4. Vitamin K is the anti coagulating vitamin.

  • "Cue the Vit. D debate" What debate?

      Something something sunshine

    • My wife reckons she doesn't need Vit. D anymore.

      • +3

Are you married to a mushroom?

      • +3

I can confirm this is wrong. She just doesnt want the vitamin you give her

        • +2

You mean she wants to try a different Vit. D?

    contains gelatin

      …..and……?

  • Last time when it was on sale, the expiry date was less than a year. Unless you can share with someone, it will be hard to finish them in time. Not sure about it this time though!

    • +1

I bought it on Monday at this price and got it already. FYI, the expiry is May 2025.

  • I take 2x 1000IU softgels daily of another brand. Is 5000IU excessive?

    • +2

      No

  • Apparently maximum is like 4000iu/d?

    https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/24750-vitamin…

Probably wouldn't take this much long term. Around 1000iu/d should be fine for most people.

    • +1

Take it every second day if you're concerned. 2500/day should be okay, it's been a long time since I did my research but i recall I landed on 3000/day as a good amount that shouldn't be overdoing it, but of course do your own research and consider your individual circumstances.

Lol 50,000 IUs - no replacement for displacement

  • It’s weird the huge range of opinions of d3 requirements. The. Natures way pill I have are 1000iu and they say DO NOT have more than 1 per day. Yet there’s 5000 and 10000 tabs on the market

    • you can get higher IU formations from compounding chemists with a prescription - usually a doc wlll boost your vit d levels up using these and then ask you to maintain the higher level by daily taking 1000 or 2000.

I'm curious whether the Australian vitamin regulations referred to in a post above limits the amount of IUs that manufacturers are allowed to offer in their products here.

    • 1000 IU isn't really a lot, just the standard dose in Australia. It's probably not enough for most people but depends on individual circumstances.

      • Yeah I guess it makes sense in countries where they get less hours of sunlight or everyone is office workers etc

      • +1

I was taking 1000 per day had a blood test and was told to take 2000. I took 5000 every second day and was told my levels were good.

    • It's regulated in australia, because you can have too much. Above 1k you need to seek medical advice before purchasing it from australian pharmacies.

It's been mentioned a few times in these threads, but apparently supplements are unregulated in the US, which is why you have doses like these (some much bigger) coming from there

      • I was taking prescribed melatonin 3mg and had to sleep in the afternoons. Purchased 10mg over the counter in US and could not even sleep through the night. Definitely different strengths.

  • Great deal, thanks OP.

These are $0.0275 each versus $0.11 with iHerb

The sun is free. But I'm sure someone is going to say we pay for it?

      • +1

They'll say if the sunlight is free then you are the sunlight …

        • +1

I have been known to light up a room.

      • That's not what my doctor told me

        • Did your doctor say you were a vampire? Do you only go out at night and don't eat garlic?

    • I used to use iHerb until the postage (and exchange rate) didnt make it worthwhile unless you bought whole bunch of stuff at same time :/. Having said that, you still need to buy other stuff via amazon US to get the free delivery (anything over 59bucks)

  • -5

You should not be taking this dose unless advised by your doctor as the loading phase of treatment for severe vitamin D deficiency.

    • +1

      Thanks Dr. Phil.

      • Dr.Phil isn't a real Doctor. He's an Electrician.

        • I, on the other hand, am a doctor.

  • Is this any good? Last time I looked at getting Vitamin D3 I read others saying the better D3 supplement is with K2 (pretty sure it was K2).

    • K9 is almost five times better.

5000iu - strong, by comparison most Australian manufacturers make 1000iu caps. So could be good as a once/week dose. With 720 soft gels it would take around 14 years to get through the bigger bottle.
