I just left origin because they are a rip off

    • Same globird was cheaper for me (VIC)

        • Just noticed they don't have consistent 30/31 days cycle. Are they charging the access fees 13+ times a year?

Origin rates are high but you can take advantage of $200 to cover your first bill or part of it and then churn elsewhere.

  • Thanks

  • Will this still work if im an existing Origin customer?

    • Nope

I've got it three times without switching, simply start a new agreement using the link. I had to chase up and send an email to customer service last time but they applied the credit with no arguments.

      • Similar here, successfully had 2 $150 credits, as an existing origin electricity customer, for One Big Switch new plan incentives. However, I am struggling to get them to credit the third one (condition was to sign up and remain on the plan until at least 1 March). Maybe they are onto it and closing the loophole.

  • geez, I keep seeing these deals but then see the 31+c/kWh & 1.30+/supply in SEQ.

BTW The Solar Plan doesn't appear to get the $200 and it looks like the usual Solar Plan.

    • The non-solar plans have an OK feed-in rate, we are getting 10c/kW

But as others have noted, the pricing doesn't really matter, you can get the $200 credit, use it up and then churn

  • I still haven’t got the $150 credit from last month

I got it yesterday, I sent an email to customer service to chase them up.

Also note that there NBN provider is switching in April from Aussie BroadBand to Super Loop, if your looking for a package with more than energy.

  • Doesn't apper to be working any more. There is no offer for Origin?

  • Sorry no plans available for this Postcode. :(

Still works for me! Existing customer, rates were very slightly less than previous plan. Shame the $200 is non-refundable.

Link still worked for me today (new customer).

  • Just signed up for Electricity. When do they apply a $200 sign-up bonus?

    • +2

I had to contact them, then they credited my account a couple of hours later. This is after signing up like a week before, and having the service active for a couple of days.

  • Nothing available for SA.

  • …The $200 credit (incl GST) will be applied to your electricity account after 1 July 2024.

Need to wait until after then?

    • +1

Mine was credited to my account soon after (a week?)

    • You can get it done without the waiting period if you don't open the page with different plans but just follow One Big Switch offer.

  • Can the credit be refunded if you get it and then switch to another provider?

Looks like AGL has increased sign on bonus from $75 to $200 as well so time to churn…

    • Remember reading 'non refundable'.

  • mine says that i will be billed quarterly for electricity (quote is $1300/yr), and $200 will be applied to first invoice.. so I would need to pay $400 total for 3 months worth of electricity… is everyone else getting this as well?
