Econnex Cashback Offer - Gas & Electricity $250, Electricity $150, Gas $100, Broadband $100, Solar Install $200 @ TopCashback AU

120

Was checking for cashback options on the different cashback sites and saw this Econnex offer with TopCashback AU.

Seems slightly higher than the latest CR offers but t&c's seem not as thorough and time to payment longer.

I could not find an end-date.

Gas & Electricity - $250
Solar Installation - $200
Electricity - $150
Gas - $100
Broadband - $100

Per t&c's:
Cashback is eligible only on Solar, Energy (electricity & gas), and Broadband products on a completed purchase & payment of a policy. A completed quote is not an eligible purchase and will therefore be ineligible for cashback.
Cashback is ineligible on Mobile, Credit Cards, and any products not listed as eligible.
Important: Once the retailer has approved the lead, Econnex transactions will take up to 50 days to appear in your account. Do not lodge a cashback claim prior to this.

Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

    Another energy cashback choice.
Few days ago, took up Econnex Deal ($200 MC for electricity) & up to $150 electricity credit depending on provider.

Unlike this 90 days to remain connected. That only required 45 day. (Used to be 30d)
    Then can churn again.

Have been switching retailers for years - for the incentives! Paid all my electricity bills (all electric aircon home, no solar).

    • I missed out on the deal you linked. Only started shopping around after i got my latest electricity bill where i used up electricity credits. Will wait a couple of days for gas bill to come to see if those are fully used up too else will just switch electricity.

With Econnex, how do you ensure you're a "new"/eligible customer as a churner?

        No restriction by Econnex.
Depends on the retailer you choose - if they consider you a new customer.

Some restrict benefits to only once a year (eg Energy Australia), based on your home address.

I've signed up to PowerShop through Econnex 6 times, sometimes more than once in same year - using same details. Receiving $150 electricity credit. So have 6 different accounts!

Switched from Origin to PowerShop in December Econnex Deal. Origin sent over $1100 credit to my bank (unused cost of living rebates in Qld)💰

I like PowerShop. But as that's my current retailer, needed to choose a different one for next 45 days. Then likely back to PowerShop.

Probably best to use a different email at signup. But no way to disguise location of your home to be a new customer!

Usually good advice given in Deal comments.

        • thanks

    • What's the usual wait to churn? 90 days seems long. Do 45d / 30d deals come up frequently?

Directly with Econnex, used to be 30 day min. Changed to 45 days this month.

I usually remain until joining credit with retailer is used up. Had $150 electricity credit in December. Churned few days ago.
For me - about 60 days before churning.

Depends on when next good Deal is posted.
Have been a few in last month.

It's unfortunate they want to data-harvest your name, address, email, and phone number before you can see what internet plans they offer, grrrrr, stuff them…

Reading their Privacy Policy it sounds like they'll dish out your info to anyone and everyone to make a buck…

    • How else do they provide a cashback offer? No different to social media selling your data.

      • Kickbacks from the companies they refer you to for the actual product you purchase…

Personally I rather not get daily phone calls offering scammy solar deals or the likes… (as things are now I get basically no email or phone spam and I'd like to keep it that way)
