Harvey Norman TCL 32" LCD TV $197

180

It said $197 on the main page but not inside the product page I think they are still updating it.
Price on the product page is correct now.

Not Full HD 1366 x 768

But I have no idea about TCL but I remember it is a China brand, so I think may be better than DSE no name brand.

  • the website has no more information about the model. is it normal with harvey norman? or just too late to catch the promotion?

Originally I thought TCL was a no-name generic brand, but I saw it quite often in China and it's a well-known brand there. Not sure of quality though.

    • They are sold as RCA in America.

  • Just got one from HN Auburn for $197 (the big poster still says $297). They still have lots about 30+ stacked on the floor. Same price as the Expired Kogan special but this one you can see for yourself the picture quality before buying and if you have issues it is easier to return than dealing with Kogan customer service. I might be mistaken but I remember the salesperson mentioned it has 3 yrs warranty that's why I did not bother getting an extended warranty but I might be wrong.

    • HN NSW Auburn? I told friend of mine, he went to HN Ballarat, the sales rep quoted $297… probably only one store….

      • The $197 price is on their web site now.

        • yep.. checked It's online now.. thanks :)

By the way, TCL is one of the largest consumer electronics brand in china. It is to china what samsung is to korea. They have been in Australia for a long time cause I remember our CRT TV (still running with a set top box) is a TCL.

  • It's pretty good tv, gives a good picture.
If I didn't already buy a 32" soniq led I would buy this one.

  • TCL and Toshiba form a joint venture for LCD TV . All Toshiba LCD TVs are made by TCL .

  • could you use this a computer monitor?

    • You could, but with a very low ppi you'd either have to sit quite far away or else you'd be putting up with fuzzy text and a not sharp picture

      • ok thanks for letting me know

        • Even I connected my HTPC to my 46" Full HD LCDTV I still have to set the text to large font before I can see it better.

          So not recommended.

  • Just a question, where do you guys get the wall mount bracket at a good price? I remember reading not to buy this at HN.

  • Got one of these TVs a few days ago and the picture is decent for a budget TV. The sound quality is also acceptable. Perfect for kids TV room. I was buying the TV at the same time as another customer and the Harvey Norman sales person tried to sell us a 5 year extended warranty for $59. We both laughed and looked at the sales person like he was crazy.

  • I bought this TV last week and just wanted to report my impression of it. Picture Quality is very good (you need to adjust factory settings) and sound is quite good ( I prefer the Live preset). The built in PVR works but will not replace a standalone PVR (I use a cheap $39 dgtec set top box). I have an efergy energy monitor and was surprised to find out that this tv uses 30 - 60 watts (specs says 90 watts). The crt it replaces uses 200 watts.

  • They're back up to $325 now.

  • Mine still hasn't arrived in store. Been 4 weeks now.
