A decent value after the amaysim 365day pay as you, and then Aldi $5+$15 recharge, and may be vodafone $30 prepaid plan also.

Telstra does not offer any pay as you go plan by default nor any longer expiry cheaper plan than this directly.
the inclusions for this plan

Personally have not much idea for much extra value this has over other Pay as you plans, but if you like to buy directly from telstra may be a good idea ???

This can be combined with any $35 prepaid starter kits from store like currently $17 at Officeworks and Woolworths allowing you to get the PrePaid Casual mobile plan with 6 month expiry for only $17 for this week. As OW and Woolies currently got a special for it.

What is the use case for a sim service like this? Like you said Amaysim triumphs this deal by being only $10 for 365 days validity.

The international minutes is interesting but if you are going to pay $35 every 6 months then you may as well just use amaysim international calls/sms

    https://www.amaysim.com.au/international/rates

A decent value after the amaysim 365day pay as you, and then Aldi $5+$15 recharge, and may be vodafone $30 prepaid plan also.

So it potentially ranks 4th in terms of PAYG mobile service?

    • If this was on sale then it could be a bargain but $35 is the regular price.

      • yes it is on sale already at woolworths and office works for $17 can be used to get this 6 month recharge plan

        • I saw it on half price at Coles today. But on the sim pack it mentions only the 28 day expiry plan with 15 gb or something. How do we activate the 6-month casual plan after buying this $35 starter pack?

    • may be one needs a full telstra network (and aldi telstra network is not suitable) ???

IDK if telstra allows using a store bought $35 kit (on sale) to be used on this plan ??

may be only needs a small service which uses very little data (like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/829611)

Also this has set limit of inclusions (so you cannot just like use all the $35 value on 1 single thing (like sms or call or data), its already distributed out from begining (which may or may not be a good thing in your situation)

Using this plan on my smart watch as standalone service. Handy to leave phone at home when I go to gym or to park with kid. Helps me spend quality time with family.
Can still get notifications and alerts from phone.

    • Oh, how do you set that up? Do you know if this can be done on Galaxy Watch?

    • ahh yeah good idea to use it as esim for watches, and esim only devices.

Telstra does make this plan so difficult to find though not gonna lie, took me very long to find about this

      • only postpaid can connect with watches, not prepaid (at least at the moment )

        • Ahh thanks for clarification/extra info

        • Unless you are ok with standalone plan on watch like a stated above

    • Don't you need an eSim plan? Their cheapest prepaid eSim 6-month plan is $110.

Nope. Just get this plan and a esim barcode from their store.

        • Once you get the physical sim activated, you just go to a store and they can provide you with a qr code for the esim?

  • What happens after the 350 mb are used? Do data services stop or do they continue at a really slow speed?

Then no data, (a good thing so that your other
included values don't reduce just because of data)
